THE NEXT MORNING

Not wanting to leave the boy alone after what happened with Wonhu, Seokjin brought it upon himself to stay the night with Namjoon.

When Seokjin picked Namjoon up from work, he was visibly shaken up by the whole ordeal, rightfully so. Seokjin was determined to get Namjoon calm and comfortable again. He showered his baby boy with attention, cuddles, kisses and sweet words that hopefully would be enough to lift his spirit. Seokjin was in caretaker mode, so he said and did whatever he could to help bring peace back into Namjoon's life because the rough encounter that he had with Wonhu had really messed him up on the inside more so than out.

This latest incident angered Seokjin to the core because he hates seeing Namjoon in such a distressed state. Every tear that he shed yesterday, every broken sob that escaped him, it only added to the fury that Seokjin harbored for Wonhu. And as the hours passed, the more that he thought about everything that's happened with the maniac up until this point, Seokjin finally came to the realization that his patience for the psycho had reached its max limit.

Wonhu had three strikes and he's used them all. Seokjin is done being the nice guy. The patient guy. The safe guy. He's done letting Wonhu have his way. He won't tolerate another one of his random dramatic outbursts again, not this time; not without getting the cops involved or at least handling the situation himself, man to man – by any means necessary.

"Baby?" Seokjin leans over the bed and kisses Namjoon on the cheek, gently running his fingers through Namjoon's hair. "I don't mean to wake you up, but there's an emergency going on at the restaurant. They're understaffed and I'm being called in to help out, so I have to step out for a bit, okay?"

Still half asleep, Namjoon mutters something unintelligible. Seokjin chuckles, kissing him again but on the forehead.

"I made you a small breakfast if you want to get up and eat," Seokjin says. "I'll be back as soon as I can. If you need me for anything just call."

"Mhmm." Namjoon finally acknowledges Seokjin, later pursing his lips out, silently asking for a kiss. He doesn't have the energy to go the extra mile and open his eyes, but he feels Seokjin's lips on his seconds later. It's a quick peck, nothing too crazy, but it's just enough to temporarily settle Namjoon's nerves about having to be alone again.

Namjoon then curls up on his side, cuddling with a pillow, as Seokjin tucks him in. Namjoon doesn't hear the bedroom door close when Seokjin actually leaves because he's already back in dreamland.

A FEW HOURS LATER

"Hyung!"

Namjoon wakes in a panic from a nightmare, things quickly taking a turn for the worst as he looks around the bedroom to see that he's completely alone.

He calls out for Seokjin several times but gets no answer back. The house is quiet except for Namjoon's irregular panting. It isn't until he grabs his cell phone from off the nightstand, checking his texts, that he remembers Seokjin waking him up earlier. He remembers that Seokjin had to leave because of an emergency going on at the restaurant.

Seokjin has sent him a text every hour since he's been gone, saying nothing in particular, just checking in with Namjoon to see how he's doing. Namjoon relaxes and breathes a sigh of relief knowing that no one's hurt or in danger. He hurriedly replies back to Seokjin's messages before getting up to shower off last night's negative energy.

He hates how cried out he was when he came home with Seokjin. He barely ate and skipped washing up because Wonhu had frightened him so badly, zapping all his energy. Namjoon is still disgusted at how Wonhu had the nerve to manhandle him yesterday, how he dared to touch him and drag him outside to talk.
