You leaned over eager to fill my ears,

With all your flattering words and unseemly leers,

I pretended to be entertained and forced myself to listen,

To which you thought my consent all but given,

I knew the moment you gained what your heart desired,

You would disappear and nary a trace, would I find of you, if I inquired,

So I carried on and led you to believe, you will one day be successful,

On a long drawn out journey ,the end of which, you will find quite distressful.
