***This is in my other book, A Collection of Miscellaneous Tales, but it has that rainy day feel, and I thought I'd put it in here too.

  And forgotten dreams they became,

Gathered in the halls of memory,

Where silence echoed loudest,

And the dust floated down in the late afternoon sunlight.

Locked away in golden cages,

Their delicate wings fluttering softly,

As they begged to be set free,

To soar against the painted sky as they had once done,

In a distant, faded recollection of the past.

But they were forgotten,

Forgotten,

The keys had been lost,

Their wings had been clipped,

The memories faded,

And forgotten dreams they became.
