Red balloon

One hot summer day,

A small girl with a balloon,

Was strolling down the street,

As bright as the moon.

Was greeted by the baker,

And said hello to the mail man,

She saw her neighbor and his dog,

With his wife named Sam.

She continued walking,

To the nearest park ahead,

But made a sudden change in mind,

To get some ice cream scoops instead.

As she approached the truck,

She said "can I have two please."

The man replied back

"That would be one twenty three."

Suddenly she checked her pocket,

And realized she didn't have enough,

Didn't know what to do,

So all she did was huff.

She tapped her shoe on the ground,

All of a sudden an idea came,

As quick as lighting,

Even faster than rain.

When the ice cream man came,

With the two scoops in his hand,

She said:

"I don't have enough, but I'll give you my red balloon if I can."

Authors note:

This is actually one my favorite poems I've ever written about a little girl <3 :)
