"he looked at her like he just realised what love is" As a student of Hampton College, it's easy to feel isolated, cut off from the rest of the world. This is only one of the reasons Henry Winter loves it. Ever since he's been able to form memories, Henry has felt... numb, in a way. The world around him has always appeared uneventful and dull. The one thing he finds a sort of comfort in is burying his head in studies of the ancient. Now, in his second year of college, he's planning to do just that. But suddenly, something shifts when he meets Odette, a young literature student with her heart on her cheek. Henry has never before been much interested in romance. Not that he was particularly against it, only that he had never met anyone who interested him enough for him to actually consider it and he didn't expect to. That's why he gets profusely confused when he can't seem to stay away from this seemingly ordinary, uncomplicated girl. Still, he feels like he's been throw into a play and given the role the lovestruck hero. And things don't often go well for love eyed boys in stories. Especially not when your story is a tragedy. Still, he cannot stop himself. Her touch is addictive, her kiss intoxicating, and now that he's felt her attention on him, he doesn't know how he'll ever survive without it. All characters except Odette are owned and created by the queen of literature, Donna Tartt. This story takes place the year before The Secret History and will later move onto the plot of the book with changes to fit the main character and her story. For anyone actually reading this, I am so sorry because I am in the habit of going back and editing, which could absolutely make it confusing. For anyone who's reading this years later, it will be so much better because of it.

I put my soul into these, the least you could do is... 1. Put your mind into seeing them. 2. Put your heart into reading them. WARNINGS: These pieces includes things such as... - Implied harm due to unfaithful relationships. -mentions of drugs, insanity, and pot. - heavy guilt. - non-patriotic yet honest idealism about the US. - mentions of art porn in a descriptive and intense atmosphere. (Not actual porn.) - implied rape and harassment - mentions of self harm, suicide, and insanity. - big business bashing. - implied same sex love for two people - some more suicide - material invisible organisms - some more slightly insane writing about loving someone of the same sex - some more suicide - slightly delusional and juxtaposed writing - implied self harm again And finally, just a Shakespearean poem (about same sex love.) Basically, if you're a homophobe, thou canst leaveth. :) FRESHMAN YEAR POETRY.

A short poem, adoration.

She just wants a normal life. She takes care of everyone, she protects everyone but never herself. Every day she gets worse. Her depression gets worse.Her panic attacks get worse. She goes into near madness. She gets more stressed and more tired from working, paying for her mother's hospital bill and taking care of her little sister. But deep down even though she doesn't want to admit it she needs someone. She needs someone to help her, to realize that she isn't alone. She needs someone to hug her to reassure her that everything is ok.... He just wants a normal life. He doesn't believe in love, he believes that every love ends in a tragedy. The only person who loves him is his father. He lost his mother at the age of 2 and never really got to meet her and his father lost his wife without saying his last I love you. But deep down he wants to know what love feels like, he wants to know what's to interesting about it. He wants to know if he'll ever actually find it forever.... Adoration is when you adore someone. Adoration is when you love someone. Adoration is when you look at someone and know right at that moment that you'll spend the rest of your life with them.
