Chapter 15: Reunions And Taken Away

(Same day as the last chapter)

"Stupid egg!"

A young girl, around 17, cleaned the table of the bust Deli. It was a sunny day in Brooklyn and the costumers were rolling in as it hit lunch time. Being a waitress had its ups and downs but all together she loved her job!

But she sighed as she looked over at a table. The table used to be filled with laughing and chatting faces. Getting the cheapest stuff from the menu and her sneaking some goodies sometimes. Though everything changed didn't it.

"Ruby!" The girl called over to her best friend. She was a red head and was taller than her. She was gathering dishes and was about to head in "Yeah, Isabella?"

"Who's on the lunch shift tomorrow? Can't remember is I'm baking it serving"

The red head called saying she'll check the times as she head to clean up. Isabella  laughed a bit glad to have Ruby around. She didn't know what to do without her. Also Grace!

Grace was a young girl, around 9 or 10, with brown hair and eyes. She was the sweetest girl and everyone adored her. Just like how she adored someone of her own. It wasn't a secret that the young girl had a crush. He was a newsie though much older than  her, ok only around 14, he still got her heart. Flash his name was.

Isabella sighed. She was upset she couldn't see the newsies anymore. She wanted to so dearly. But was told it was to dangerous for her, and the others, seeing they weren't newsies. It made her so frustrated being told that. Her boyfriend was trying to say it was keeping her safe but only made her worry. She tried to visit him but was spotted by his best friend , Heights.  He said Spot was away and she just better go back before anyone catches her.

"5,6,7" Isabella counted her tips after the lunch time rush was up. She heard the door ring and called out "Sorry, lunch time deal is up, you might have to spend a bit more"

She looked up but was surprised to see three familiar faces. Her heart started beating thinking something horrible had happened. "Oh my god. I'm so glad to see you. Is everything OK?  Where's everyone? How's Chaos? ...Where's Spot?"

"Everything is fine" Heights told her, seeing her scared look. Thinking they were going to say something be  "Spot's at the lodge-"

"Thank god"

"But on Spot's orders you need to come with us" Strom spoke out. He looked around him before saying "Like now"

"But Spot said to stay away?"

Heights explained as they moved her to the backroom of the Deli. A hand on her back leading her the way "They have June-"

"What? How?-"

"We'll explain later. But for now we need to take ya to the Lodge" Hawk Eye spoke out as they were in the kitchen. The two other waitresses looked up but were surprised, just like Isabella, seeing the newsies.

"Heights!" Grace ran and hugged him. He gave a quick hug and smile. Saying they couldn't talk long.

"What's happening?" Ruby asked out then began saying after them speaking "Is Knockout alright?" Knockout and Ruby didn't exactly announce they were dating to the whole world. But after a while of looks from each other and how they acted everyone picked up on it. They went on small dates and even a double date once with Isabella and Spot.

"Yeah he's fine. But they have June and on Spots orders we need to take Isabella to him" Heights began saying. Ruby gave a confused look before saying "That's his sister right?"

"Yeah and we need to go" Strom spoke out heading to the door and giving a nod. He was quite strict sometimes when it came to orders.

"I'll say to Mr Brown it's a family matter why you left" Ruby said about their boss. He was a kind man, but strict, and tried to help the girls out as much as they could.
