"Since when did you join the feminist club?" Miles jokes as I enter the classroom wearing the shirt Goldi had given to me at the meeting today. I shrug my shoulders and take my seat next to him. "It's just until this bathroom thing is taken care of. My mom wants me to get involved, Goldi needs someone who isn't Maya to help so I figured why not?" Winston chuckled from in front of us and turned to join the conversation. "Someone who isn't Maya?" He asked, wanting me to explain more in depth. "She has no mind of her own, Zig explains it one way and she's on his side but then Goldi explains it another way and only then does she understand it, dumb blonde syndrome if I do say so." Winston chuckles before exiting the conversation.
Only a few days pass before Miles finds out his father is moving in that weekend, and I of course offer to stay with him. It was a battle to get my mom to agree, she doesn't exactly like Miles. I mean, great first impression, however that shouldn't count. She knows nothing of him. She's worried that his problems will make me go off the rails again, and I understand... her one kid is losing his eyesight, she doesn't want her other kid back in a psych ward. But I'm okay, I can handle it.
"Thank you for letting her stay with me." Miles thanks my mom as I pack my things for the upcoming weekend. My mom just nods at him, he knows that she doesn't like him... I feel bad for him but he tells me it's okay. As I finish packing up my clothes my phone goes off, it's my dad. "Mom!" I call joining her and Miles in the living room, showing her my phone. "I don't know, answer if you want to." Her mood gets even worse at the caller id. I take a breath and sit down besides Miles on the couch before I answer the call.

Hello?

Hey, you never called me back. I figured you just got busy and forgot

Oh yeah sorry about that

It's okay. Listen. Quill and I are taking a trip to Scarborough for a business trip. There is a banquet and I wanted to invite you to come. It's next weekend, we'd pay for your hotel and everything, you'd just need a ride there and back because our schedule is pretty tight.

"No." Mom answers before I can even ask.

Mom said I can't, she doesn't have time to drive me there

What if your boyfriend comes with, he can drive can't he?

Um- yeah

Well talk to him and let me know

O- okay

I have to go, love you, bye

"What the fuck." I look to Miles quickly. How the hell did he know about Miles. "How did he know?" Miles thought for a second before his face dropped at the realization. "What?" "Do you have your dad on social media?" "No but I have his wife's kids." "I changed my status and your followers can see it." I groan, dropping my head into my hands. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." "Miles, It's okay... would you wanna go?" "Kala!" Mom yelled, I whipped my head to look at her. "What? Miles would be there, we could leave whenever we want. Why can't I just live in the moment and pretend like I have an actual dad for a weekend?" She stops for a second. "Whatever, if you wanna go, but you're explaining it to Oliver." "Deal."
