Ch. 15 Home at last.

(Coral pov)
I woke up and could feel Shimmer beside me. She was still sleeping. But Jack was setting food down and he was about to leave when I sat up. He jumps. "Sorry. Just bring you breakfast." He said. "I told your dad not to. That we would get it our selves." I said. "Yeah well dad wanted me to do it any way." Jack says. "Is he trying to get us together or something?" I ask. "No I don't think so." Jack says. I pull Shimmer my lap. She was still sleeping. "Are you sure she's ok?" Jack asks. "Yeah she's just tired. She had a long day yesterday." I said. "What happened yesterday?" Jack asks. "We fell off a cliff." I said. He nods and leaves. I look at Shimmer and she wakes up. "Morning sun shine." I said. "Hi Mommy." She said. "Ready to go to the woods?" I ask.  She gets excited and jumps up. Her fists in the air. "Yeah." She said and I chuckle. "Lets go then." I said and take her hand. We walk through the White House. We come up on the President. "Where are you going?" He asks. "Out side to the woods." I said. "Why the woods?" He asks. "Because we love the woods and I might see my boyfriend too." I said. "Ok have fun." He said and we walk to the gate. Jack was with his friends. He looks at me. "Where are you going?" Jack asks. "The woods of course." I said. "Why?" Jack asks. "Shimmer go on with out me. But stay close. We love the woods. It's our home." I said and walk off. I find Shimmer as a wolf pup and I transform into a wolf. We run around. But then a paint ball flies by my face. Shimmer gets behind me and I growl. Then Jack comes out of the trees. He had a paint ball gun and then he saw us. He backs up. I walk on with Shimmer at my heels. As soon as we were out of sight I transform back to human. I walk to Jack. Shimmer by my side. She was human now to. I get to Jack. "Hey there you are. Having fun?" He asks. "Yes we are." I said and Blade walks out of the trees. "Hey honey how are you?" He asks. "Good. You?" I ask. "I'm good. A bit lonely with out you and Shimmer at the cave." He said. "Well my cut healed. So I'll ask the President if I can come home." I said. "Daddy!" Shimmer says and Blade picks her up. "Hey squirt. How are you?" Blade asks. "Good. Where's uncle Luke?" Shimmer asks. "Oh what now you love him more than me. I get it." Blade says and tickled her. "No I'm just wondering." She said. "Well I think he's with Poseidon right now." Blade says. "Ok I just want to hear stories about Poseidon. Would he be my grand father?" Shimmer asks. "In a way yes." I said. "What do I call him then?" Shimmer asks. I hold up a one minute sign. "Hey dad. I told Shimmer that you're her grandfather. She wants to know what to call you. What do I tell her?" I thought. "How about grand pa?" I hear. "Sure that works for me. If it works for you." I thought. "It works for me." I hear. "Ok." I thought. "Grand pa." I told Shimmer. She nods. "Well I need to ask the President if I can come home. I'll be back. Come here Shimmer." I said and took Shimmer. We walk to the White House and found the President. "Hey my cut has healed. Can we go home now?" I ask. "Sure." He said and I walk off. I go to the woods and found Poseidon. "Grand pa!" Shimmer says. "Hey kiddo." Poseidon says and ruffles her hair. "Hey I was going to see Blade and then we were going to see my mother. She wants to meet Shimmer." I said. "Ok well me and Luke will be here if you need us." He said and disappears. I walk to the cave. Blade comes up to me and we hug. "Do you want to go see my mother now?" I ask. "Sure lets go." Bade says. We walk through the woods and down the street. Shimmer was between us and she held both of our hands. We got to my mom's house. I knock and my mom opens the door. "Coral. How nice to see you." She said and we hug. We let go. Shimmer was hiding behind my leg. "Mom this is my daughter Shimmer." I said and picked Shimmer up. She buried her face in my chest and raps her arms around my neck. I chuckle. "Shimmer this is. Um my mom." I said uncertain. "Poseidon told me about that." I said when I saw the look on her face. Shimmer calmed down and she look at my mom. She smiled and so did my mom. "You are such a beautiful young lady." My mom says. Then Shan drove up in his truck. Shimmer seemed to like my mom. But when Shan drove up she got scared. She buried her face in my chest again. "Hey I'll be at home if you need me." Blade says. "Ok bye." I said. He kisses Shimmer and walks off. Shan walks to us and looks at Shimmer with disgust. "What is that?" He asks. I growl. "This is my daughter Shimmer." I said. He walks inside. "Come on in side and we can have dinner." My mom said. We walk in side. "Why don't I help you?" I ask. "Sure what about Shimmer?" My mom asks. "She can run around the house." I said and I set her down. "Hang out around the house. Play in my room. Be good." I said and she ran off. I went to the kitchen and helped my mother. We talked and laughed. Then Shimmer ran in as a wolf pup. She ran to my feet. "Shimmer human now." I said and she transformed into a human. "Did he see you as a wolf pup?" I ask and she shook her head. Then Shan walks in. He looked mad. I lean on the counter. "Yes?" I ask. "Your child tried to kill me." Shan said and I look at Shimmer. "I found your knife and was going to give to you but he came up on me and said that I was trying to kill him." She said. I read her mind and then his. I look at my mother and I give her a look that says She's innocent and that he's lying. She nods. Shimmer held up my knife and I ruffle her hair. I take my knife. "Thanks sweet pea." I said. "You're not mad?" She asks. "Not at you." I said. She hugs my legs. I rub her head. "Shall we get back to dinner?" I ask my mom. "Yes lets finish dinner." She said and we went back to making dinner. "So how is life with out me?" I ask. "A little boring. But I'm doing fine." She said. "How are the woods?" My mom asks. "Good oh guess what I threatened Luke's life twice." I said. "What?!" She asks. "Yeah the gods kept kidnapping me and I threatened his life in the woods and once in front of all the other gods." I said and went on to tell her everything that had happened. When I was done we finished dinner. I helped mom set the table and brought the food out. We sat down and ate. "So Coral where do you live now?" Shan asks and I look at him surprised. "What?" He asks. "You just never seemed to care for me ever. But I live in a cave in the woods." I said. "Why?" He asks. "Because it is a great place to raise Shimmer." I said. "Ok. Does Blade live with you?" He asks. "Yes why do you ask?" I ask. "Meh just wondering." He said. "Ok." I said. "So Coral has you heard from Isis yet?" My mom asks. "Yes I have a few weeks ago and so has Blade." I said. "Good. Shimmer how old are you?" My mom asks. Shimmer seemed surprised that she was asked a question. "Um I'm five." She said. My mom smiled. "Coral I remember when you were five." She said. "Yeah I was a little stinker then." I said. "You still are." Shan teased. I smiled. "Will you send Shimmer to school? My mom asks. "No. She's a you know what to and she would never make it in a human school." I said. "She's a what?" Shan asks. I give Shimmer a look that says don't say a thing. "Nothing." I said. He didn't look satisfied. "Oh Shan let them have their secrets." My mom said. "Ok. So I assume you'll home school her then." He said. "Yes we will." I said. "Didn't Daddy try and get out of teaching me?" Shimmer asks. "Yes but he was playing around with me." I said. "Oh ok." She said. "What?" My mom asks. "When Poseidon was taking us down a hall Blade asked if I was teaching her and we teased each other about it for a little." I said. "Oh ok." My mom said. "Shimmer when did Coral find you?" Shan asks. "Actually mom I saw uncle Andrew. I found Shimmer there." I said. "Really? How?" Shan asks. "I was walking in the woods and found her." I said. "Why were you in the woods?" Shan asks. "Because my real mom had abandon me and I got lost. Then Mommy came up on me in the woods." Shimmer said. "Well then." Shan says. "What a great parent." My mom says. "I know right." I said. Then I looked at my watch. "Oh Shimmer we need to go. Sorry mom I don't mean to be rude." I said. "No problem. I understand you need to get home to Blade." She said. "Thanks for everything. I will visit. Come on Shimmer." I said. We walk out the door and down the street. Then we come up on Jack and his friends. "Hey Coral." Jack says. "Hey how are you?" I ask. "Good you?" He asks. "I'm good." I said. Then Shimmer got behind my legs like she was scared. "Mommy do you hear that?? She asks and I listen. I could hear men talking about getting Shimmer. I growl. Then I realize that it's John and Josh. "Jack do me a favor please?" I ask. "Sure." He said. "Take Shimmer and go to your house. I'll be fine. Then when you hear my voice in your head go to the woods with Shimmer and give her to Blade." I said. "Ok?" I ask. "Ok." He said and picked up Shimmer. He walked quickly down the street. Then I walk into the woods. I come up on John and Josh. They see me and get huge grins on their faces. I back up to a tree. "Coral how nice to see you." John said. I got scared. "What do you want?" I ask. "Not us our boss." John says and all went black.
