Chapter Two | Before New York

You are still a student. Chris Hemsworth is your sibling, he is 3 years older than you. You, your brother and Chris was close since childhood, but when you were already in high school, you fell in love with Chris, in which you admitted to him and turned out that you and Chris liked each other. You are also a volleyball athlete. That's the reason why Chris fell for you, He would always watch your practice ever since you two got together. It's almost a year now. Chris graduated already. You are so happy for him. He is about to fulfill his dreams. You thought that you should be proud of what he has done. His speech made you realize things. You were so happy for him. You even got him a gift. You bought a very special cake for him that says "Congratulations, Chris!" written on the cake.

He was far from being him after you and Chris, together with his family, got home from his graduation. He became a very different person. He was like a sad puppy. He then held your had as soon as you reached home, and he rushed to his bedroom. He pushed you in his bed, and you somehow liked the way it felt. He pushed you in the nicest way. He pushed you in a way it turns you on. So you leaned in to kiss him, but then he said that he had to do it, for you don't know why.

So you two became serious. You sit up and then he sat next to you. Then he was really serious this time. He just hugged you and kissed you a lot. He stopped and he spoke up.

"I really have to tell you something." He said to you, in the most serious way.

"What is it?" You asked.

"Well, you know I'm more into acting, right?" He said.

"Of course, I do. I even support your acting skills." You replied.

"This is serious babe. I had to...."

"You have to what?"

"I need to go to New York."

" Oh. " is the only thing you said after the words escaped from his mouth.

It hurts you. You know it'll take months and even years before Chris goes back to Massachusetts. You may never know if he'll come back. You also understand the fact that he is doing this for something so great to come. You know he'll make it. And for sure, he won't be able to resist the charm of girls he will meet in New York. You cannot stop overthinking. It'll be hard for the both of you because it'll be a 'not-so-long-distance relationship'. Massachusetts is 3 hours and 33 minutes away if you're driving a car, but it'll be fast if you take the plane.

Deep down, you know that he will forget about you. He will meet other girls, and if he gets the chance to portray a character in a TV film, you know you will see it and it would only hurt you in some way, knowing that they're together without you. It's hard. But you cannot stop Chris. It's his dream, his passion, his goal. You know that he's doing this only for the sake of his bright future and his great potential in acting.

You just sat here silent for a minute, thinking about it. You confronted him about your feelings. You told him that it'll be best to take a break, and see if the relationship will, somehow, still work.

"Let's see if it works in a way that we won't get hurt. Let's lie low. Let's see if we can make this work, with all of my hectic schedule in trainings, my homework at school, I used to do it with you, it'll be a big change. I'll have big adjustments. Those things that I used to do with you, I will miss it. I'll suddenly crave for you just when I know that you weren't two blocks away anymore." You said as you start to tear up a little.

"Y/N, all my life, ever since we were little, I know you already. It'll never be replaced. I spent my childhood with you. Even if your brother won't let me play with you, because I'm a boy and you're a girl, he's too strict, I still managed to try my best not to get caught. Remember?" Chris said with a teary-eyed.

You still can't accept it. You were a big part of Chris' life. But you are now about to be his past. It was hard for you because you are still studying and you cannot leave school just to go with him to New York, so he really has to go, without you.

You did what's best and now, you two are calling it quits, you guys talked it over. You will try. You told him that whatever happens, you'll still be there for him. You changed your mind about breaking up with him, and you thought that it was gonna be great if you try to work stuff out with Chris.

He cried, but there was a knock on the door. It was his mother. You held his face and you kissed him in the lips, you made out and you wiped away the tears from his eyes. He stood up and opened the door.

"Hey mom, we're just finishing up here. We'll be ready in 5." He said.

He then closed the door again. He went to his closet trying to search for some t-shirt to wear and he changed his outfit. You were there too, you searched for some of your dresses in his closet, since he had a big one, you already have some of your clothes in his room. So you picked the best dress you like and wore it. You and Chris made out before going all the way out for his graduating celebration.

You walked down the stairs and I believe that almost all of the people downstairs are eyeing on you. You look gorgeous in the dress that you picked. Even Chris wants to spend more time with you but there you go, with his family, on a dinner, at the place where you two first met.

It is so much for you, to the point where you can't handle it anymore. The memories are hunting you. You're gonna miss Chris a lot. You will have big adjustments. You will change. So you did nothing but created more memories with Chris while he is still in Massachusetts, while you two still have time to be together.

"So, Y/N, please be reminded that Chris loves you. All the time." His mother Lisa told you.

You agreed to what she said. You are somehow happy that Lisa thinks you are a good partner of Chris.

"Mom, you don't have to be that cheesy. Y/N knows that I love her." Chris said as everyone in the family laughs.

You were happy in that moment and you wish it lasted longer.
