the movie is just being referred to as minecraft: the movie right now, and its official release date is march 4, 2022. it will be live action.
and this isnt just some rumor, it was confirmed on minecraft's official website lol. it'll be made with the help of warner bros, and its director is peter sollett (and award winner).
the synopsis is "[a] story of a teenage girl and her unlikely group of adventurers. After the malevolent Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction, they must save their beautiful, blocky Overworld." <— from minecraft's website
