This is a story about Benjamin Cane
Who was kind and civil but becoming insane,
He lived in a house where he mostly hid,
As a scared and frightened ten year old kid,
He stayed in his bedroom distressed everyday
And wasn't even noticed on his birthday
He thought "Why was I even put on this earth,
What is this torment and unloving worth?",
He lived alone with his horrible mum
Who questioned how he had ever become,
The person she hated was her son Ben
She just wanted to live on her own again,
Such dreadful news she wanted to arrive
Telling her Ben was no longer alive
Praying and hoping that he was to drop dead
So she need not have to kill him instead,
She planned many ways for that he could die
She thought "Oh well I might as well try"
I definitely want the boy to be dead
My anger and thoughts are obsessing my head,
Little did she know Benjamin was smart
And knew what she was up to, right from the start,
Kept in his room he made a machine
Which would stop his mum from being so mean,
It helped that Ben had one small friend
But sadly their time was to come to an end,
He liked to experiment on an un-owned cat
Who stayed in his room becoming quite fat
He was black and fluffy, the cat was called Mart
And now he was about to swap his good heart
He knew if it worked the cat would turn mad
This would make the young boy rather quite sad,
But It was something which would make things right,
As his mum would become nice and polite
One night when the sky turned incredably dull
He made sure that it was aimed at her skull
An invisible laser which would swap their hearts
One at his mum and one at poor Mart,
A couple of seconds and it was done
Then he waited for the rise of the sun,
Then next morning when Ben was to wake
His mum was there with a milkshake
"Ben my dear we're going to be late
we're going the zoo isnt that great"
Ben just stood there, shaken and smiled
As he was now a happy, normal young child
It worked, his mum didn't want him dead,
Once in her life she loved him instead.
It was the first time he was allowed outside
And sadly again slowly denied
What stood in his way was the cat called Mart
Who was horrible and possessed by his mum's heart.
