It's been one week after their engagement is fixed. Both parents were happy for their children. And Arham is the most happiest one. Everyone is waiting for their engagement day.
Maheen is in her room lost in her thoughts when Kulsum came there.
Kulsum: Koi hamare bhai Ki yaadon mein khoya hai(someone is lost in my brother's thoughts)
Maheen: Nothing like that kulsum
She turns crimson hearing Arham's name
Kulsum: If you say ok(She teased Maheen)
Maheen: Are you free in the evening after iftar
Kulsum: Yeah yeah I'm free and I know why are you asking that zainab auntie informed us that we all have to go for shopping in the evening and our cousins are also joining us
Maheen: What do mean by our cousins
Kulsum: Dumbo mine and yours
Maheen: Ok ok fine
In the evening after iftar all of them went for shopping and are selecting dresses for Maheen and themselves

Azra(Maheen's cousin): Maheen Di I'm so excited for your marriage we will have fun what say Arooj
Arooj(Maheen's cousin):Yeah me too. And we are happy for you Di (sister)
Maheen:Thanks my lil ones
Zainab: Maheen beta look at these it will look good on you
Salma: No no try this one it will look awesome on you
Kulsum: No try this one my choice is the best
Maheen is confused what to do and at the same time Arham came there
Arham: Mom; Dad is calling you from the past fifteen minutes why are you not picking your phone and why is your phone off Kulsum
Salma: Ohh Arham you came we are selecting dress for Maheen and I kept my phone on silent mode deliberately so that no one can disturb us in shopping
Kulsum: And bhai my battery is down what can I do
Salma: Ok did you complete your shopping
Arham: Mom that's why we are calling you we completed our shopping one hour back.
Just then all the men of their families came there after completing their shopping
Murad: Hurry up we have to go it's 9 pm. How much more time you want women
Arham was just listening their parents bickering when his gaze fell on a beautiful dress and he took that dress and forwarded it towards Maheen.
Arham: Try this one it will look good on you. All their cousins starts teasing them
Kulsum: Yeah Maheen go and try this it's beautiful. Bhai I must say your choice is beautiful
Arham: Yeah( he mumbles looking towards maheen)
Maheen shyly took that dress and went to try. She selects that dress
Maha(Arham's cousin): Maheen you selected Arham's choice huh. All their cousins again starts teasing them
Murad: Aajkal ke bacche bhi (kids now a days)
After shopping they all went home

Time leap:After Ramadan
Today is their engagement. There is a hustle bustle in their houses with every family member busy in some or the other work because today it's Maheen and Arham's engagement ceremony.
Har ek shaqs ke chehre per muskan chahyi hui thee(Everyone has a smile on their faces)
Farooqi's house:
Salma: Kulsum hurry up we have to go to hall it's getting late and where is your brother
Kulsum:Ammi bhai is getting ready and don't worry we won't be late we will be there on time
Khan's House:
Zainab: Girls go and help Maheen in getting ready
Azra: Ok auntie we are going don't worry
Zainab:kaise pareshaan na hoon beta aaj meri beti Ki sagayi jo hai
(How should I not worry beta when today is my daughter's engagement)
Just then Maheen comes there
Maheen: Mumma everything will be fine
After sometime all went for function hall for the engagement ceremony
Arham is getting restless and this is observed by one of his cousin
Zain (Arham's cousin): Bro why are you getting restless bhabhi will come
He teases Arham
Arham: Tease how much you want bro but remember everyone has a day. Tab mein tumhe nahi chorunga (I won't spare you that time)
Even though I'm not allowed to go near her before marriage, my mother will perform all the engagement rituals.
After sometime the elders completed the engagement rituals as there was a partition between male and female sections and alsl it is haram and unacceptable for bridge and groom to exchange the rings themselves. Soon after all the wishes from their loved ones maheen and arham were officially engaged.
( In my culture not our fiance but our mother in law makes us wear the ring)
