"You planted drugs in his locker?" Carter shouts at her Uncle Will. He shushes her, glancing around the auditorium for any sign of the club.
"It was the only way to get new members." He frowns.
Carter scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest. "How about calling it extra credit?"
Will curses, turning back to the kids waiting in a line. He turns back to Carter. "Okay. Okay, everything's fine. We'll just go through this number and see how it goes."
Carter rolls her eyes and follows after him. Her uncle could be extremely daft at times.
Carter does as she's told and stands between Tina and Artie's wheelchair. She sends them small reassuring smiles when they give her worried looks.
The tune of a familiar song starts to play.
"I've got chills, they're multiplying! And I'm losing control . . ." Finn begins to belt out the lyrics of You're The One That I Want. Soon, the rest of the club begin to add their vocals into the background. Rachel then begins to sing along to Olivia Newton-John's part of the song. Her once innocent head bop soon turns into a poorly choreographed dance routine where she proceeds to pull at Kurt's hair, push Tina away by her breasts, knock Carter down on the floor, push Artie down the stage, and separate Mercedes from Finn as she pulls him into a seesaw-like dance.
Carter immediately stands her ground and rushes to get to Rachel until Will wraps an arm around her waist to keep her from doing any damage. Nobody knocks down Carter but herself.
Mercedes had enough aswell. She pulled the two apart with a scowl pressed deep into her face. "Oh, hell to the no! Look, I'm not down with this background singing nonesense. I'm Beyoncé. I ain't no Kelly Rowland."
"Good thing we aren't Destiny's Child and you're Mercedes Jones." Carter mutters to herself. Artie nods in agreement beside her.
"Okay, look, Mercedes, it's just one song." Will says.
Kurt adds onto his comment. "And it's the first time we've been kind of good."
Mercedes takes them into consideration. She turns to Finn. "Okay, you're good, white boy. I'll give you that. But you better bring it." Mercedes sends Will a sugary sweet smile and Finn half smiles. "Let's run it again."
"Alright, lets do it." Their new director smiles. "From the top."

"Isn't this fun?" Terri grins at Will and Carter. "And challenging."
"Family game night," Carter smiles awkwardly at Terri. "So fun."
Carter stares down at the puzzle that formed the American Gothic painting. She slides the last puzzle piece into the woman's face with a sigh of relief. She could now escape the clutches of Terri Schuester.
"Everyone Wednesday, we're gonna have puzzle night. Because I know how important it is for you guys to have a creative outlet."
The married couple share a smile before holding hands. Carter stares down at the board waiting for their moment to pass. She was never very fond of their relationship, but it was in her nature. She was a very territorial person when it came to the people that she loved. If someone looked like they were about to swoop in and steal their friend or family member away, Carter was there to stop it. It was a shame she couldn't stop this one due to not being born at the time.
"You know, kids have been working so hard. I was thinking about taking them on a field trip next Saturday. Carmel High's performing a showcase down in Akron." Will explains to Terri as she watches, unimpressed. "Now, Carmel's gonna be the team to beat at regionals. And I was wondering if you might want to come chaperone it with me."
"On Saturday?" Will nods. Carter watches their exchange, quietly. "Oh, I can't. I had to pick up an extra shift at work, Will. We're living paycheck to paycheck, you know."
"And how much of it is going to your Pottery Barn credit card." Will retaliates. Terri looks shocked. Carter hides a smile. He was finally fighting back and she was proud. Terri deserves it for being a selfish excuse for a wife.
Terri immediately begins to deny his accusation. "I don't know what you're talking about." She stares down at the completed puzzle. Will watches her for a moment before slamming his palms onto the table and walking over to the closet door across the room. "Don't go in the Christmas closet!"
Will opens the door. "I was looking for my jacket the other day." He pushes a couple of racks to one side of the wall. Bags filled with home looking decorations and essentials are stacked on top of each other. Carter clears her throat standing up. This was a fight she didn't want to be involved in.
"We can not afford this stuff, Terri."
"But we could, Will." Terri pleads. She stands up after viewing his unimpressed look and continues to speak. Carter walks out the door and down the hallway, back into her bedroom. "Yes, I am a shoo-in to be—"
A couple of minutes later, Carter could hear their shouts from her bedroom. She groans and falls back into her bed, rolling around in the covers until she's wrapped up like a burrito.
