How was the relationship of the prophet peace and blessings upon him with our mother Aisha may Allah be pleased with her

Those who raise the suspicion of the marriage of the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings upon him with our mother Aisha may Allah be pleased with her try to paint the noble prophet as the oppressive man who violated the right of a young girl and deprived her of the charm of youth and the splendour of life.

Is this true?
with the liberal and materialistic worldview that’s prevalent with those who raise suspicions like these, you cannot object such an act that doesn’t harm its perpetrator or the others as long as it’s done willingly.

Let us see how was the relationship between our mother Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and the prophet peace and blessings upon him

Was there love?…very much so, it was actually an ideal relationship of love that you won’t find anywhere else.
Let’s recount some of their interesting and enjoyable stories.
Aisha may Allah be pleased with her was after Sawda bint Zamʿa, the second wife that the Messenger of Allah married after Khadija bint Khuwaylid passed away, and he married nine women after her, but none of them was as close to his heart than her, as it’s related clearly in numerous Hadiths..

She showed may Allah be pleased with her great fondness and love to her husband. Her love and jealousy made her, on one occasion, break a bowl containing food that one of the wives of the prophet sent him in front of his companions,. And when he went to pay respects to the people of Al-Baqi' at night she followed him secretly out of jealousy. She was trying by all means to make him stay with her as long as possible, and she would memorize funny stories and jokes to entertain him peace and blessings upon him, like the story of Um Zar’, and she would also tell him the kindest and most affectionate words. Like when he told her that: “I know when you are pleased with me or angry with me; when you are angry with me, then you say, ‘No, by the Lord of Abraham.’” she said: “O Allah’s Messenger, I leave nothing but your name.” meaning I can’t abandon you ever, what a beautiful and delicate answer…Also when the prophet peace and blessings upon him left his wives for a month and came back on the twenty ninth day she said: “you swore on a month” he said: “yes”, and she said: “I’m counting the days and nights”. She counts the days longing and yearning. And after he died, she narrated that she would cry wholeheartedly when she remembers her beloved who would never overeat because of his asceticism, his altruism and his frequent charitable givings.

And he used to reciprocates the same actions that indicate a perfect harmony between them. He said: “do not harm me in Aisha” and he used to race her, and drink from where she drank, and he would sleep on her lap, he even died on it. And he stopped a whole army to look for her lost necklace. And when she raised her voice to him, and her father As-Siddiq wanted to hit her, she took refuge in him as he stood in his face protecting her.And the prophet peace and blessings upon him perfected her good manners and conduct. Many people ignore her biography after the death of the prophet peace and blessings upon him passed, but she used to wear patched clothes out of asceticism, even though the Sahaba would give her big sums of money, she would give it all for charity. And she had such a kind heart that she would narrate the virtues of the other wives of the prophet even the ones that passed away like Khadija may Allah be pleased with her, though she was herself extremely jealous of her, nevertheless she narrated the hadith of “No Allah have not given me a better one instead of her”. And she used to say that Maimouna upheld ties of kinship the most. She has also defended Zaynab bint Jahsh and described her as being pious, and she recounted the virtues of Jouwairiyya. And when Sa’ad Ibn Ubadah defended the hypocrite who accused her of adultery, she said he’s a good man but he was just influenced by his chauvinism.

Because of her great love of the prophet peace be upon him she was one of the people that narrated hadiths the most, she was a vessel of knowledge, and she used to give Fatwa and debate.

So can this noble soul and kind heart with the acute intelligent and eloquence, can it be a product of an oppressive and unjust relationship…In fact, just giving the prophet’s Seera a quick read makes you laugh at those who raise this suspicion. This marriage is actually a source of pride and a great example to follow.  It is in fact the most fruitful marriage in history, it resulted in knowledge that benefits millions of muslims today.

If after this, you consider that a marriage of someone in the age of the prophet peace be upon him with a woman of Aisha’s age is an unnatural thing, then you should consider that their marriage is in fact a miracle and a proof of his prophethood !!
