3:00.

that was the time that peter always walked through the door of joy's.

peter's drink was already waiting on the counter, a medium iced coffee.

he usually came to joy's after school. sometimes it was to study, to do homework, or to hang out with ned. and sometimes it was just his place to get away.

today, he had come to joy's to study.

usually, he was the only one in joy's at this time, other than judy and carl (a cute older couple).

peter grabbed his coffee, and left $4.00 on the counter.

he shot a smile and a small wave to the older couple before walking to his "spot."

his spot was in a corner, with a window that looked out on the city. he liked people watching sometimes, or just watching the way the sunshine leaked through the windows of the cozy little shop.

today though, things were a bit different.

you were sitting there in his spot. you had a mug of tea and headphones on, and seemed to be writing in a notebook in your own little world. there was a book sitting face down on the table, one that you soon picked up to continue reading.

peter grabbed another seat, across the way. he pulled out his laptop and his textbooks. he knew it was probably creepy, but he couldn't not watch you.

you were humming along to the music that was  blaring out of your headphones, nodding your head to the beat. you flipped the page, and peered over the book.

as you did so, you caught peter looking at you. he looked away as quick as possible, his face now a bit red.

you chuckled, now interested in the cute boy you had just caught staring at you.

he had papers, a laptop and a camera set out on the table.

he was quite cute, especially when he was acting like he had been hard at work.

you looked out the window, the sunshine on your face. you were trying to hide the smile that kept creeping up on you.

"beautiful," peter thought to himself.

he was glad you took his spot.

otherwise he wouldn't have been able to see you sitting there, all gorgeous and shit.

sadly (for peter, at least), you began to gather your stuff and pack it away.

you gave him a little wave goodbye, and walked out of the shop.

peter kept staring at the spot where you had been sitting, sad that the beautiful person that was sitting in front of him was now gone.

then he saw the book.

he grabbed it, only to see a note written inside.

earbuds in, he walked out of joy's with the book in his hand and a hop in his step

he had an excuse to see you again,
and he couldn't be happier.
