Inspired by 'The Last Goodbye' by Billy Boyd (the song above)

Goodbye

Such a funny term

Used so often

But do we ever really embrace it

Some see it as forever

But I see it as a chance to meet again

Whether for good or for bad

Now I may not see some of you ever again

But I hope that the ones I do see

Remember the fun

The laughs

The complaints

And the whispered secrets

Each of you has made a special impression on my life

And I hope that I have made an impact as well

For goodbye is never forever

I have learned that

When we say goodbye

All some really say is

'Wow I hope I never have to interact with them again.'

But when I hear the word 'Goodbye'

I hear-

'You are now a part of my life

To be treasured

Whether you like it or not'

And then there are those goodbyes that just bring you to tears

And no matter how old I get

I will always experience that type of goodbye

When I leave for the year

Because I have realized

That I am one year closer to not having these amazing,

Beautiful people in my life

And that truly makes me sad

But it also makes me happy

For we get to be what we want

What I really want you guys to do is think

Just think of how far we have come together

I mean look I have known some of you for 7 or more years

And in those years together we have:

Joked to together

Danced together

Sung together

Did homework together

Stolen each others pencils

And let's not forget

Complained about English

One of the most dreaded subjects to ever exist

Sorry (My teacher's name)

But now that I am saying it

Also thank you

For putting up with our..well...everything

From complaints

To constant chatter

Stupid pranks

And just stupidity in general

With all this I can now be at peace

With this year

Goodbye.

(I do not own the song but I do own the poem)
