We all quickly got dressed. I put on a pair of boyfriend jeans with a sleeveless white top, and white sneakers before asking Mrs. Weasley to do my hair in some half up half down style with a spell since it would take forever for me to do it myself and I couldn't have people stepping on it at Diagon Alley.
Once we all made it down, Mrs. Weasley made sure everyone had on their coats, mine was different from the rest since I only owned muggle clothes, which I never minded. I preferred muggle clothes over witch fashion any day.
Mrs. Weasley walked us all over to the fireplace before grabbing the pot full of Floo powder with a sigh. "We're running low, Arthur. We'll have to buy some more today. . . . Ah well, guests first! After you, Harry, dear!"
And she offered him the flowerpot with a smile. He looked at it, confused before looking to up at us.
"W-what am I supposed to do?" he stammered.
"He's never traveled by Floo powder," said Ron suddenly. "Sorry, Harry, we forgot."
"Never?" said Mr. Weasley. "But how did you get to Diagon Alley to buy your school things last year?"
"I went on the Underground —"
"Really?" said Mr. Weasley eagerly. "Were there, escapators? How exactly —"
Escalators?
"Not now, Arthur," said Mrs. Weasley. "Floo powder's a lot quicker, dear, but goodness me, if you've never used it before —"
"He'll be all right, Mum," said Fred. "Harry, watch us first."
Fred took a pinch of the glittering black powder out of the flowerpot, stepped up to the fire pit, and threw the powder into the flames, shouting "Diagon Alley!" With a roar, green flames engulfed his body before he vanished.
"You must speak clearly, dear," Mrs. Weasley told Harry as George dipped his hand into the flowerpot and did the same. "And be sure to get out at the right grate. . . ."
"The right what?" said Harry nervously as the fire that just took George.
"Well, there are an awful lot of wizard fires to choose from, you know, but as long as you've spoken clearly —"
"He'll be fine, Molly, don't fuss," Mr. Weasley said going into the fireplace next.
"But, dear, if he got lost, how would we ever explain to his aunt and uncle?"
"They wouldn't mind," Harry reassured her with a bitter smile. "Dudley would think it was a brilliant joke if I got lost up a chimney, don't worry about that —"
"Well . . . All right . . . You go after Ella," said Mrs. Weasley, since I had already grabbed a handful of the Floo powder. I walked into the grate and yelled, "Diagon Alley!"
I quickly shut my eyes, tucked my elbows in, and stood still. I hated the spinning that always came from the Floo system, but I am used to it since it is the only way that I can travel between countries.
