*italics = sign language*

The whole camp smelled and looked horrible. Dead walkers were lying everywhere on the campsite and it pained Miles to see some of them. Especially Amy.

Miles didn't know Amy well but from the times they communicated, Amy was really nice to Miles. She stood by Daryl's truck and watched Andrea sit next to Amy's dead body. The men were gathering the dead walkers and loading them onto the bed of the truck.

Daryl watched Miles from the opposite side of his truck. She had dried blood on her face and some in her long hair. It seemed to not bother her but much didn't these days. No matter what the camp or Miles had gone through, Daryl noticed that she still had fire in her eyes. She was a survivor and it would take a thousand walkers to try and take her down.

Daryl followed where Miles was staring. She was watching Andrea hold Amy. Daryl didn't care for either of them but by looking at Miles, he knew she did. Miles cared for everyone in the group, even if they never tried to communicate with her. That's just who Miles was and it was one of the things Daryl liked about her.

Daryl banged on the side of the truck to get Miles's attention. Hopeful that she felt the vibrations.

Miles immediately looked at Daryl, still on edge from the previous night.

"Come help me," Daryl signed to her. Though Miles was feeling like shit, she couldn't help but smile a little. Daryl Dixon was learning sign language.

Miles followed Daryl to a spot of dead campers. Miles grabbed the leg of one while Daryl grabbed onto the shirt collar. They began to drag it near the fire. Both would have thrown the camper in if it wasn't for Glenn stopping them.

"What are you guys doing? This is for geeks. Our people go over there!" Glenn pointed to the digging hole.

"What's the difference? They're all infected," Daryl shrugged. He really didn't care about any of these people.

Miles looked at the walker they were dragging and noticed that Glenn was right. It was one of them.

Miles signed 'sorry' to Glenn and nodded her head towards the digging hole, signaling to Daryl that they needed to drag the body over there.

"Fine," Daryl muttered and helped Miles throw the body into one of the holes.

Miles thought one was enough. The bodies were too heavy for her to carry even though Daryl was helping. She thought it would be best to go check on Andrea and see if she needed anything.

While Miles started walking towards the R.V., Daryl couldn't help but start a fight.

"You reap what you sow," Daryl smirked. "That's what they get for leaving my brother on the damn roof," Daryl thought.

"You know what? Shut up, man," Morales, who was now helping Daryl since Miles left, was tired of Daryl whining every few minutes.

"Y'all left my brother for dead. You had this coming!"

While Daryl and the others continued to bury the bodies, Miles had made her way to Andrea. Miles slowly lowered herself onto the ground in front of where Amy laid dead.

"I'm sorry," Miles signed. Andrea knew what the sign meant. Though she wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone, she appreciated Miles coming over to pay her condolences.

Andrea looked up at Miles so she could read her lips, "Today was her birthday."

Miles eyes widened. She didn't know.

"Her birthday was always like... like a week long affair. But somehow I always missed it," Andrea looked down at Amy at the end of the sentence and couldn't help but tear up more. If only she made time for her sister.

Miles took out a small piece of paper from her back pocket and a pen. She kept it on her for important conversations. This was important.

"I know you are blaming yourself for things in the past but Amy wouldn't want that. Treasure the time you did spend with her," Miles wrote before handing the paper to Andrea.

Andrea read the two sentences over and over. Miles was right but it couldn't stop Andrea from hurting.

"Thank you," Andrea nodded to Miles, who nodded back in acknowledgement.

Just when Miles was about to leave, Amy began to stir. She opened her eyes and it scared Miles. Amy's eyes were gray and foggy, complete opposite to what Amy's eyes really looked like.

Daryl quickly turned to look at Andrea and Miles. He had heard moans coming from Amy which made him nervous. Daryl quickly walked over to Miles and lifted her up from the ground. He didn't want her anywhere near Walker Amy.

Miles looked up at Daryl and gave him a look that said that she was okay.

"Amy. Amy, I'm sorry," Andrea cried out. "I'm sorry for not ever being there. I always thought there'd be more time. I'm here now, Amy. I'm here. I love you."

Miles turned around right before Andrea shot Amy in the heard. Though she has killed walkers in the past, Miles couldn't bare to see someone close to her killed.

Daryl touched Miles's shoulder to let her know it was done. "Go be with Max," He told Miles softly.

Miles nodded and headed towards one of the tents. She had made Max stay with the Sophia and Carl to protect them while the adults handled the bodies.

Daryl had watched Miles walk to the tent to make sure she was okay. He knew there weren't anymore walkers near but it still made him nervous.

When they came back from Atlanta, they had heard screaming coming from the camp. They thought it was Merle until they heard gun shots and moaning. Max barked which signaled to Miles that there were walkers. She was the first one to take off to the camp. While Rick and Daryl were taking down walkers while Glenn and T-Dog helped the women and children, Miles was by herself taking down three on her own. If it wasn't for Max barking, Daryl wouldn't have looked up to see another walker coming up from behind Miles. He raised his bow and shot the arrow through the walker's head.

Miles could have been one of these bodies they were burying. Daryl couldn't even think about that. He would go crazy if he lost the only person in camp that he could actually stand.

"She's strong y'know," Rick said, interrupting Daryl from his thoughts.

"I know. Out of all of us, Miles is going to survive all this," Daryl told the sheriff.

"Is that your girl?" Rick asked, curious since Daryl has been overprotective of Miles since they got her back from Guillermo's group.

"Nah," Daryl chuckled at the thought. "More like acquaintances."

"Then why do you protect her and not the others?"

"Because that damn dog will kill me if I don't," Daryl chuckled, thinking back to when he first met Miles and Max.

"Story for another day?" Rick laughed.

"Yeah man."
