Y/n POV

I was in class, reading a book I found awhile ago in Skyrim. It was really just a joke book but I liked it.

???: excuse me?

I looked up and saw a boy with blonde hair.

???: Hi. I'm on an errand for Rias to fetch you

Y/n: got it

I closed the book and stood up.

???: just follow me

I nodded. Then I noticed Issei right next to me.

Y/n: so your coming to?

Issei: yeah

Y/n: great

Time skip

I was reading my book in the ORC building. I wasn't listening to what they were saying. Then I felt someone hit me over my head.

I dropped my book in surprise and looked up.

Y/n: yes?

Rias: have you chosen an answer for my question last night?

I nodded.

Y/n: I'm going to politely not accept it

She looked at me dumbfounded.

Y/n: that's doesn't mean I won't help you. I just don't want to be a devil nor do I want someone like it superior to me. If you were a jarl, that would be different since they are already superior but still. I'm not a slave

Rias: fine. So I think you know what we do?

Y/n: devil work, magic, stuff like that while I kill dragons

I looked at her.

Y/n: so what do I have to do?

Time skip

As I walked back to the ORC I felt... something. Like something was off.

I let a fire ball form into my hand before I threw it behind me, trying to hit someone, of they're following me.

I heard a grunt with made me happy as I kept walking back to the ORC.

The next day I was walking to school. I was tempted to summon spark in my hand and play with it, but I don't want anyone to see.

Then I heard someone yelp in pain. I looked over to see a girl wearing religious clothes.

I walked over to her and help her up.

Y/n: are you ok?

???: yes thank you

After a small conversation I found out her name is Asia. She has healing powers that work like a combination of healing and healing hand as she can heal herself or others.

Time skip

*SMACK*

I stumbled back a bit from the force of the slap.

Rias: you are not allowed to see her again. Same thing with going to the church.

Y/n: your not my boss

Rias: your part of my peerage.

Y/n: and I said I'll help you, not be your slave. You can't control what I do

She glared then sighed.

Y/n: I'll just leave you be for now

I then walked out.

Time skip

As we appeared in a broken down building, I started to question what a stray is. It's a devil, yes but what exactly.

Rias: Y/n, Issei, have you ever played chess?

Y/n: nope

I summoned dawnbreaker in its sheath and just let it stay there, though I summoned Auriel's bow in my hand.

Rias: each of my peerage members, except you y/n, represent chess pieces. I'm the king.

Stray: oh it's seems you have wandered into the wrong pla-

She was cut off as I fired and arrow. It glowed light the sun until it hit stone, as she dodged.

Rias: what?

Y/n: do you really think I have normal weapons? My sword I got from a Daedric goddess of light. This bow I got who represents a different thing, the sun. I can change day to night I I fire and arrow at the sun, though only until the moon rises. They are most affective against undead and since devils are like vampires and undead it's will do a lot more damage to you and other devils

Rias: noted. Though let Issei learn. Kiba, your up.

I saw him rush at her with speed only a horse or whirlwind sprint could beat.

Rias: Kiba is my knight.  His weapon is a sword and he has an unmatched speed

I saw him cut off the arms before she could react. I put my bow on my back.

Rias: Koneko

Koneko, the short girl, nodded. Then just walked up to it.

Rias: Koneko is my rook, my tank. She can take and deal anything

I saw her just punch the damn this and the stray went flying.

Rias: Akeno is my queen.

Akeno who was standing by walked up and I saw lightning appear in her hands.

Rias: she is the perfect balance of all the pieces

I looked around and saw a cut off arm going for Rias.

Y/n: watch out

I rushed at the arm before impaling it with dawnbreaker. Then it exploded, with a ring of purple fire.

I saw the others get blown back a bit but because I'm not a devil or didn't affect me. I then noticed the burned corpse of the stray.

Y/n: sorry about that

I took dawnbreaker out of the arm before resheathing the bloody sword.

Rias: why aren't you affected by that blast?

Y/n: that blast only happens to the undead, but it doesn't always happen. Sometimes when I hit undead it will explode but the explosion will only harm other undead creatures, like yourself.

She nodded to that.

Issei: what piece of I then?

Rias: your my foot soldier, my pawn

I started laughing at that.

Issei: thanks for laughing. You know we can't all be able to kill everything instantly

Y/n: oh I have my weaknesses, that I know. You just don't know those weaknesses

Issei: so I'll find them and kick your ass

Y/n: good luck. Now if you don't mind, I would like to go. Have a nice night

I walked out of the building leaving the rest to do something with the corpse.
