The next day found Buffy and Marty sitting on his couch playing a video game.
"Hah! I win again!" Buffy bragged.
"Yeah, yeah whatever," Marty set down his controller. "Do you want to watch a movie?"
"Sure," Buffy replied, grabbing the remote.
"Woah, woah, woah. My house, my remote," he opened his hand for the remote.
"I don't think that's how it works," Buffy put the remote behind her.
"I want to choose the movie," Marty exclaimed, reaching behind Buffy for the remote.
"Hey boundaries," Buffy laughed.
"You lost the privilege to have a personal space bubble the moment you took the remote," he told her. Marty climbed on top of her still grabbing for the remote. "Give it here, Buffy!"
"Not a chance!"
"Give it to me, or else," Marty threatened jokingly.
"Or else what?"
"Or else this," Marty warned leaning in. Buffy pushed him away as he tried to kiss her.
"What the hell, Marty!" Buffy jumped up. "In case you forgot, you have a girlfriend. I'd feel terrible if I was the one you cheated on her with."
Marty stood up next to her. "I broke up with her yesterday."
"Oh," Buffy whispered.
Again Marty leaned in, and this time Buffy didn't stop him. Their lips met and she pulled his body closer. Her hands moved to his hair combing through his tangled hair. Too soon, he pulled away. "Wow," Buffy began before Marty connected their lips again, more fiercely this time.
They were rudely interrupted by a noise from their phones. Marty sighed and reached for his phone.
"It's the group chat," he explained.
Luke: Sup guys
Leah: Just chilling at my house
Dylan: yeah me too
Dylan: my house not Leah's
Dylan: to be clear
Jonah: alrighty then
Cyrus: everyone be at my house at 7
Cyrus: you can stay till 11
Marty: cool
Luke: this is late but dyl are you sure you're not at Leah's house??
Dylan still hadn't responded by the time he arrived at Cyrus's house with Leah in tow. He walked in to see Buffy, Grey, Andi, and Luke already there.
"Hey guys," Dylan greeted them.
"Hmm suspicious how you too showed up together," Luke pretended to twirl his imaginary beard.
"Well I've been told I can be a little clingy. In fact, just the other day Leah was telling me I couldn't keep my hands off her," Dylan informed them. Leah elbowed him.
"That's completely out of context," Leah explained.
"She also practically begged me to get in her bed," Dylan added thoughtfully.
"I did not," Leah insisted. "You're such a pervert, Dyl." That word caught Dylan's attention.
"Leah, I didn't m-" Dylan started worriedly.
"I'm sorry, Dylan. I shouldn't have joked about that," she whispered to reassure him. "You're nothing like him, I promise." Dylan visibly relaxed which no one else in the room understood except Luke. Suddenly the door flew open, and in walked TJ. The moment he saw Leah, he ran to her. TJ pulled her into a hug confusing most of the crowd.
