He removed his sunglasses and grabbed my face. He was inspecting every inch of the black eye looking concerned.

《Who the hell did that, Maria?》He asked

《My friend opened her locker in my face but not on purpose》

《Maria Vittoria Cerulli Vezzani, I know you're lying, who did that?》

《Some guys...but it wasn't on pu...》

《Yes, it was. Maria, you are not going back there》 he said, he looked really concerned, like a real dad would.

《But, if I change school my friend will be beaten even harder》

《I will speak to your principal tommorow morning. I'll just cancel the appointment with the studio, my daughter comes first》

That's weird from someone who didn't want to raise me.
What if mom lied and he was right?
I need answers.

《And you'll come with me, we'll show her your face, now let's go home, we will go at your old house tommorow》 he said putting back his sunglasses and starting the car.

He drove home.
Once we were there the only one home was Ryan. As soon as he saw me he runned to the bathroom to grab their first aid kit. He told to sit down on a chair so he could heal my wounds.

《Kids are getting aggressive those days》he said worried

《It's...whatever, not that bad...》 I said in the most quiet way as possible even if my face was burning due to the product.

《It is, Maria. Do you want to tell us about it?》 Said Ryan

I didn't answer, I didn't wanted Chris to hear anything more of that.

《Would you tell me if your dad walked away?》

《...yeah》 I replied hesitant

Ryan just looked at Chris and he walked out of the room leaving Ryan and I alone.
He just kept on disinfecting my face.

《You can start whenever you want to》

His voice was so calm and confident, I felt like he was one of my oldest friends in that moment, and that I could tell him whatever I wanted to. I felt like I could trust him so I opened up to him.

《When I was a young girl, I didn't had a father. My mom was the only one I've got. When I started going to school, I kept on seeing kids with two parents, I asked myself why I did had only a parent. My mom didn't tell me about my dad until I was fourteen. But it never really affected me. I didn't wanted to know my dad. What made me suffer was a person, her name's Victoria. She is the typical popular white girl, blonde, skinny, pretty, loved by everyone, has a squad of dumb hoes that do whatever she says...a real life Regina George. Everyday she finds new ways to insult me or even hurt me, it can go from being locked into the toilets to being beaten from some guy she asked to do it, in return they get a date with her or stuff like that. It all stared when we were twelve. She once heard my mom talking to her parents to a school party. My mom was an Italian immigrant, she came here at fifteen so she had an accent when she spoke. From that day she stared to make fun of me, calling me "stupid Mexican" or "ugly", "fat", "stupid emo", "slit your wrists and die", "go back to your country" and even more. The thing that she said that  hurted me the most was "I understand why your father walked away, you are such a mess"》

Ryan just stoped what he was doing and hugged me super tight. I felt tears on my right cheek, I've never opened up that much to someone, why have I to someone I have known for not even twenty-four hours?

《Listen, Maria, those people are stupid as fuck. You didn't deserve that at all. Your mom being an immigrant isn't a reason to bully you. Since Chris is your dad and he's our band's dad too, I feel like I have a little sister to protect. If I was your age I'd beat them so bad that they'd forgot their names, but since I'm over twenty one I cannot. But we will find a solution, I promise you that. Fuck them.》

《Thank you. And sorry if you've wasted your time on me》

《I didn't》

As soon as he said that we heard the door opening.

《It must be Vin》 said Ryan

But it wasn't.
An average height man opened the living room door. He had orange dreadlocks, on fleek eyebrows and contouring, he had cool nose piercings and tattoos. He had a luggage with him and a all black outfit.
He breathed out sassy out of every pore of his skin.

《Ghost! Welcome back! How was your trip?》 Asked Ryan

《Flop》 he said with a bitchy face. He noticed me and dropped his luggage.
He came to me and grabbed face to examinate it.
He didn't say anything, he just went to his luggage and took a foundation and a  brush out and just putted it all over my face.
Once he was done he just walked me in front of the mirror.
My face was without any imperfections.
He had magic hands.

《Wow, thank you so much, ehhh...》

《Devin》

《Devin, your make up skills are amazing! It is the first thing I noticed in you》 I told him smiling

He just smiled back and handed me the foundation, as to say that I could keep it.

《But it is yours》 I told him

《Too dark for me》 he smiled to me and walked away to take his luggage and go upstairs.

He has been so nice to me, even without saying that much.
He slay. For real.

That evening I tried to skip dinner but Ricky literally pushed me out of my room against my will.
He's an inch shorter and way skinnier than me but he has more strength than me, how?

Tonight on the menu a super healthy meal; pizza.
The only one who wasn't eating it was Ricky, he was having spaghetti instead.
I tried to not touch the slices in my plate but again, Mr Chenzo had something to say.

《Wait, you don't like pizza as well?》

《I do but I've had something earlier》 I responded, hoping he would believe me.

《What did you had?》 Asked Chris

《Peanut butter and jam》

《That's your daughter, Chris》 said Ryan with a huge smile

《Yeah, okay, but you need to eat pizza, or you ain't a true Cerulli》 said Vin putting in my mounth a slice of pizza.

Why have you done this to me?
Vincenzo, I swear to God I'm trying to not explode.
Next time I won't let him sit next to me.

After that I avoided to talk to anyone on that table and didn't touch anything else. I was feeling gross, how could I have let someone doing that?
That was a big mistake.
