Tick Tock

Tick Tock
Blares the clock
Perched upon the highest stairs
It rings out as she glares

At the time it commands
With its slender hands
That spun and crept
All around and kept

Ticking away her hours to live
She waits for the weight to lift and give
For the time that heals
The burning pain she feels

Slowly it starts to dissipate
Only there's much more to contemplate
But it lingers within the depths of her soul
Agonizing her and taking its toll

As it passes through her life that was taken
Snatched from her to make her awaken
When her head was rested
And then the waves crested

Waves of pain
Now she yearned for a day without rain
To twirl in the sunlight
Not the nightlife

But she waited
While her life faded
And the clock rang tick tock
Your time has been docked
