Chloe's POV

I'm getting ready for my evening out with Tom. It was good to see him again and I'm looking forward to catching up with him. He's good company and it'll be nice to get out. I've been spending all of my time with Beca, which isn't a bad thing - far from it. It's just I'm not helping myself when it comes to my feelings for her. The more time I spend with her the harder I fall and I can't keep doing that to myself. So I'm getting out of my comfort zone and meeting new people. Hopefully, I'll be able to find someone that I like and pursue something with them. It's not to take my mind off of Beca, but to help me get over her. I can never be with Beca so there's no point waiting around for something that's never going to happen. I need to be thinking of my future and unfortunately, that future doesn't include Beca.

Since Tom and I going to a bar, I don't bother to dress too fancy. I'm just in jeans, heeled boots, a button up shirt, and a jacket. I've left my hair down and put on a little bit of makeup. I like to put some effort into my appearance. I give myself one last check over before I walk out from behind the clothing rack, which we use as a divider between Amy's side of the room and the rest, and see that Beca is sitting on our bed with her laptop in front of her as does her mixing as usual. She looks so cute in her home clothes, which is just sweatpants and an oversized shirt that hides her baby bump. She's tossed her hair up into a bun and has snuggled under a blanket. She looks so comfortable.

"All ready to go?" Beca asks when she sees me.

"I am. How do I look?"

"Good," she smiles.

"Thank you. Now, are you going to be okay without me for a few hours?"

"Yes, I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Chloe," she laughs. "Go out and have a good time."

"Okay. You'll call me though if you need anything? Don't hesitate."

"I won't."

"Good. I'll catch you later. I won't be home too late."

"It's okay. Don't restrict yourself because of me. I'll be fine."

"If you say so," I wink at her then make sure I've got everything before I leave.

I'm glad that Beca's okay with me going out but a part of me wishes that she would have asked me to stay. That just confirms that Beca's not interested in me romantically. I hated asking her if it was alright for me to date earlier today but she seemed fine with it. It hurt but it's probably a good thing that she's not bothered. I need to move on with my life and that's what I'm doing.

It's been several hours since I left home to go have a few drinks with Tom. I've missed talking to him. He's such a funny guy and he's one of those people who you know will turn your day the right way up if you're having a crappy one.

"So, do you and Beca spend a lot of time together?" He asks me.

"Yeah, well, we kinda live together," I giggle.

"You do?"

"Yeah," I nod. "I decided to help her through her pregnancy. She was really upset after her break up and stuff so I offered to be there for her while she was pregnant and she said yes so we moved up to New York together to pursue our careers."

"Wow. That's really sweet of you, Chlo."

"Thanks," I smile.

"No, it is. Not many people would do that if any for that matter. You and Beca have always been close though haven't you?"
