This is one of the more known supernatural creatures in this book. but its a lot more complex then it may seem at first sight. I will explain the werewolf as much as I can, and the werewolf is immortal unless directly killed (meaning they cant die from old age)

The Werewolf

these creatures are more known, as mentioned before. but they are more complex then you might think. they're able to shift from a human-like form to the iconic werewolf form they are so well known for. this happens in a very interesting way, A werewolf starts its shift using a mental trigger. Which can be triggered by multiple things. Either by choice or by force. Either through emotions or cause, they trigger it themselves. This works both ways. Having them shift into a werewolf form. Or back to human. In the case of a full shift (turning into their werewolf form), the body releases a huge amount of adrenaline, which makes sure they don't feel the pain of shifting. Then the body releases a chemical that makes the muscles and bones more flexible and also increases bone regeneration. Then the bones, muscles, and flesh expand which also pushes the fur (which is because the hair is buried deep in the skin, like with everyone) out of the body making the fur appear. The increased regeneration makes sure that during the transformation if any damage is done to the muscles, flesh, or bone structure it gets repaired before it does harm. Then when its fully expanded the body releases a chemical that makes sure the bones stay strong. And also increases their strength to accommodate for the increased size. The claws also get pushed out of the hands and the increased heart rate pumps more blood through the eyes. Which then starts glowing because of the extra energy created by the soul/heart. This all happens very quickly after each other. And that's why during a shift they are a bit more vulnerable. Because of the expansion of the body. Although they aren't that much more vulnerable than they usually are. But still a 2%more. Which doesn't sound like much but in battle can be a very big deal. they also have increased and enhanced senses and physical ability, making them faster, stronger, and more agile. and females of the species also don't get their period, which is caused by an error in the DNA which replaces the gene triggering the period with a gene that increases the protection and/or regeneration of the groinal region and genitalia. males do not have this error in their genes, meaning their groinal region is more vulnerable than those of females, again not by much, but by 1%. which can be enough to make the difference between victory and defeat. their werewolf form is a large, 2-3 meter tall with hair/fur covering their body, with a wolf-like tail of about 1-1.5 meter. here are a few examples

as seen in the third picture, they can also form packs or elate's, which are both different things. every supernatural creature can form an elate. an elate is a group of supernaturals, of 3 or more, with no alpha. they can still have a leader, but no alpha. this counts for all supernatural species that can communicate. speaking of communication, if a supernatural (this can be any supernatural species capable of shifting) is in the same shape as another, they can use a semi-telepathy, which is communicating through the sending of electric waves over short distances. which works like talking, and can be heard by anyone close enough and in the same shape (meaning in their "beast" form). it basically works like talking, but no one in a different shape can hear it. these packs have the ranks of "alpha", "alpha's mate", and "pack member". there are also different genes within the werewolf species that alter the species, one of these is the lycan gene for example which I will explain right below this line, and maybe explain others after

the lycan gene,
this gene doesn't do much harm, except for making it harder to hide from humans. this gene alters the appearance of the carrier, making it so wolf-like ears and the wolf tails show even in their human forms.

the generations.
at the beginning of the species, you will find the core supernaturals, in this case, the core werewolf, which is the first of the werewolf species. every core supernatural came to be when a random set of creatures of different kinds, like a werewolf-like creature, absorbed a huge amount of energy, and the ones that survived the transformation became the core supernaturals, 10 of each species were created, covered in dermaglyphes, which is a pattern covering their bodies, and they eventually went to father (or mother) the species as a whole. there is only 1 of each core supernatural left, which has been turned to stone by their children, the first generation. I will continue this story later, but the way it works is any core supernatural mates with either humans or another core werewolf. they eventually produce the first generation. which are more human-like and have about 5% of their parents core-power and also being covered by the dermaglyphes, then there's the second generation, (the children of the first generation) have 25% of the power of their first-generation parents, and so on to the third, and the fourth, and on and on and on until they reach the 20th generation. after the 20th generation, the children become "normal" supernaturals which all have 1% of the core DNA, which is enough to turn them into supernaturals. (the picture below is the core werewolf)
