( yes I'm starting to write from Josie's perspective now! )

"Penelope- um, you're here."
"You don't sound so excited JoJo. Are you alright?" Penelope asked, as Josie felt a rush of heat hit her cheeks.
"Im fine, yeah. It's a little hot, that's all." Josie replied.

"Well, I need to talk to you. I heard Alaric and Hope talking back at the school-"
"Wait. What would Hope want with dad?" Josie's mind started racing, as she slowly lowered herself on the couch, Penelope sitting beside her.
"It's about what's- what's going to happen to you... and Lizzie." Josie made complete eye contact with Penelope, who had a worried look in her eyes. "It's called- The-"
Before Penelope could finish her sentence, Hope came scrambling into the Living Room, straight into the Kitchen, yelling Alaric's name. It didn't look like Hope had seen Josie and Penelope sitting closely on the couch.

"What's with her?" Josie whispered.
"Oh if it's about Lizzie destroying the house, I hope she filmed it." Penelope exclaimed excitedly. Josie shot Penelope a glare, as she heard the Kitchen doors slam shut. Josie couldn't help herself, but rise from the couch, clutching Penelope's wrist.
"JoJo what the-"
"Shhhh."

With quiet footsteps, Josie crept towards the Kitchen door, Penelope tapping Josie's shoulder -and probably rolling her eyes-. Josie didn't catch the whole conversation, but caught some small bits, sounding like Hope was distressed.
"Hope let it go!"
"I'm Lizzie's lover-"
"I'll take care of your own daughters, even if you won't-"
Take care of them? Thoughts rattled through Josie's mind, but couldn't think of anything it could be. Let it go? Lizzie's lover? Many questions swirled around in the air surrounding Josie, before Penelope finally caught her attention by yanking Josie away from the door with all her might. At that very second, Hope burst through the doors like a elephant.
"See? You could've got trampled by moody Mikaelson here!" Penelope exclaimed, but Josie wasn't really listening.

"Josie... Penelope... why don't you go and find your sister. I might've locked her in-"
"Locked her where exactly?" Josie asked, folding her arms.
"Josette's room..." Hope finished, as the room fell silent. The only sound that rose, was Penelope's quiet groaning from the red mark left on her wrist from Josie's strong grip.
Reluctantly, Josie nodded leaving Penelope alone with Hope, and Alaric who was now sat at the dinning room table with his head in his arms.

"Lizzie? Lizzie are you in there?" Josie called, once she reached her mothers bedroom. The large oak doors, with small patterns carved into it made Josie a little uneasy.

"Josie? Yes. Could you-"
"Stand back sister." Josie said, as she touched the door with her hand, a glowing colour of red illuminating between contact. When she could hear the shuffling of Lizzie's feet, walking back from the door, Josie muttered a spell under her breath, hearing the lock pop open. Lizzie rushed to the door, pulling it open by the broken handle.
"Lizzie are you ok? Hope told me she locked you in there..."

"Yeah I'm fine. I don't know why." Lizzie replied, her platinum Blonde hair bouncing around her shoulders.
"What happened? Hope came scrambling out to the Kitchen yelling something to dad. Something about needing to protect us, I didn't hear everything though." Josie explained, walking into the room of their dead mother.

The atmosphere in the room seemed eerie, like the ghost of Josette was still lingering in the air they were breathing. "It doesn't sound right. Dad would never keep secrets from us. I thought we were past that."
"Oh Josie, there's still so much he's hiding from us. The secrets will never stop."

Something about what Lizzie had said shook Josie's core. The secrets will never stop. Their family had never been normal, but she had always carried a hope they could be... a perfect world. But she knew deep in her heart that would never happen.

With a small sigh, without thinking, Josie gently went to sit on the Double bed in the middle of room. Slowly, she rested her head down on the soft velvet cushions.
It felt like hours she was there. Staring into space, watching as time moved on, never stopping to wait for anyone.
"Josie?" Her sisters voice echoed beside her, as she moved her head onto Lizzie's shoulder, her golden sister embracing Josie back. A sharp wave of a icy feeling hit Josie's arm.

"Oh my. How'd you do that?" Josie asked, as she saw a nasty scratch on one of Lizzie's palms.
"Banging the door. I guess a sharp bit of wood caught my hand..." Lizzie replied, holding a ice pack on it softly. Josie got up, resting on her elbows, as she took her sisters hand, and the ice pack, dabbing the blood filled cut.
"Ouch... you should be a little more careful next time, Lizzie." Josie said, managing a small laugh. Lizzie let out a giggle, her hair spread out on the pillow case.

"I'll keep that in mind, thanks." Lizzie said.
Suddenly they both fell quiet for as short as 20 seconds, before Lizzie started talking again.

"....do you feel her?" Lizzie asked, turning to look at Josie. "This room- it has a label with her name on it."
"I do. She was special, there's no doubt about that... but I can't help but regret-regret not telling her-" Josie seemed to find the words stuck in her throat.
"Telling her what?"
"I never got to tell her I loved her..."

Josie felt her eyes welling up, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't hold back her tears. Salty tears rolled down her cheeks, dropping on Lizzie's cut, as Josie heard her wince.
"Josie." Lizzie said, wiping her tears from her eyes, sitting up to hold her sister close. "...She knows. I know she does."

And with that, Josie felt herself slipping away, out of reality, and into a deep slumber, in her loving sisters arms.

( let me know if you don't like it being written in Josie's POV. I just wanted to try it. )
