DIE YOUNG
||QUEENS, NY||
It was early in the afternoon when August sent India off to get something done to her head. He say he was tired of her walking around lookin like a lion in the jungle, her hair was all over the place at the moment. She was on her way to KenzieCutz. It was a well-known hair-salon in Queens. Mostly likely being the messiest hair-salon you could stumble upon, you could walk in not knowing anything going on around town to coming out knowing who did what and when.
India thought it was kind of embarrassing to say but she had never had her hair done before—like actually done. The most she had was a press out... that she did herself. She hadn't actually went to a shop and got her hair done so she wasn't really sure what to ask for.
"Yo, can I help you?" A female voice asked from across the room. India's eyes connected with the famous Kenzie herself. She's gorgeous! India thought. Everything about her was green. Her pixie cut, her eyeshadow, her blouse—even her Chanel sunglasses were green. "Uh..can I get some braids?" India asked, nervously.
"What kinda braids? Come take a seat." Kenzie replied as she motioned for India to come towards her. "Can I get five braids?" India asked.
"I gotchu' boo."
"Kenzie, I been here all damn day. You really gone just skip my head for her?!" A female customer angrily spoke to Kenzie, Kenzie turned her face up wondering who the hell she was talking to, "Excuse me? Did you forget this is my shop? Imma do whateva' the hell I want, so either you wait ya' turn or take ya' ass to Divines and let them play in ya' head." Kenzie snapped, the girl remained quiet and seated, "That's what I thought."
"What's wrong witchu' girl? You been snappin' all day." Tesha said to Kenzie, "Today just not my day. The feds did a sweep in Glendale and my lil cousin Dayday got booked. I told his ass stop fuckin' wit' them police ass niggas." Kenzie replied irritated, she got mad just thinking about it.
"Who you talkin' bout? Cause my lil brotha' from Glendale and he got swept too." Justice butt in while rolling her neck. "Is he still under investigation?" Kenzie asked, "nah.." Justice replied, frankly.
