AN:

This is a long one because I realized it was at 3,000 words, but then didn't have a good point to cut it off without it being awkward. So, 4,079 word chapter for ya X3

"Okay, when you said you had a plan, did you have to steal the smallest car in the universe?"

Sam laughed and I glared at him and Steve from the back seat. Yes, I somehow was convinced to get inside the tiny car beside Bucky. Did it suck?

 Yes.

We drove for a bit longer before Steve got out and I quickly jumped out after him between the two middle seats. "Hey!" Sam called out in surprise and I growled.

"Oh, shut up. I'm getting out. It's like a clown car in here!" Bucky's laughter follows me as I follow Steve out and onto the concrete under an overpass as Sharon gets out of a bigger vehicle.

"Not sure you understand the concept of a getaway car."

"It's low profile."

I snort and roll my eyes, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "It's also the absolute best car to put two super soldiers, a grown man, and a giant wolf into."

Sharon laughs and walks around to the trunk. "Good, because this stuff tends to draw a crowd." I look inside to see Steve and Sam's gear. I grab his shield and don't notice Steve and Sharon talking as flashes of the same shield, silver and paint-less in a lab, gunshots, a brunette with red lipstick, and red, white, and blue clothing make their way to the front of my mind.

I sigh quietly. "It's been so long since then..."

Silence grabs my attention and I turn my head just in time to see Steve pull Sharon in for a gentle kiss. They pull away and look at each other for a moment before Sharon speaks first. "That was..."

"Late." Steve replies and I snort, tail wagging in amusement. Sharon walks past him and I intercept her, waiting for Steve to get out of earshot before growling softly.

"Look, if you make him happy, I'll stay out of it. But if you hurt him, there will be no place in this universe where you can hide from me." I pause and she looks at me in shock before nodding.

"I won't."

"Good." My tail begins to wag and my voice softens considerably. "Just remember that. Please. He's been through a lot... I don't want him to be hurt again..." I look down for a moment before turning away to go back to the car.

Steve was looking at me and sighed. "What did you say to her?"

I tilt my head. "Don't worry about it." He gets in the car and I stay outside and run along next to it as we go to an airport. After making a few turns in a parking garage, we stop a little bit away from a large, white van. "Well this doesn't look suspicious at all." I snort and Steve rolls his eyes as he gets out along with Sam, Bucky staying back and leaning against the car next to me.

A man comes out of the van and shakes Steve's hand. "Cap."

"You know I wouldn't have called If I had any other choice."

A woman walks out and the man looks back at her after a moment. "Hey man, you're doing me a favor. Besides, I owe a debt."

Steve turns to the woman. She has straight brunette hair and a slightly exhausted look to her. "Thanks for having my back."

"It was time to get off my ass." She had a strange accent and I piped up, not wanting to make the same mistake I did in 2014.

"Before we get any further," I chuff and make my way to stand next to Steve, relishing the shock on the pair's faces. That was something that never changed. You hear about a giant wolf, but you don't believe it until you see it. Either that or it was the translator... "Who are you?"
