Under the mulberry tree

There grows beautiful red poppies,

The tree lost its will to speak

After all that it has foreseen.

And after the last soldier laid for his final rest,

He pulled out a picture of a girl from his breast.

The tree listened closely as the man spoke,

"You'll be safe, don't worry.

I'll be here, awaiting you, Emily."

The mulberry tree was a very special tree, you see.

Remembering the words the soldier did speak,

"You'll be safe, don't worry.

I'll be here, awaiting you, Emily."

Watching over the man until the seasons ceased.

Under the mulberry tree

There grows beautiful red poppies,

The tree lost its will to speak

After all that it has foreseen.

Keeping the lost one's safe, so don't worry.

The tree will be here, awaiting their Emily.

(Red Poppies became a symbol during the First World War, after the battles took place, the soil became rich and would often grow elaborate feilds of Poppies. The poem, "Flanders Feild" brought to light the viberent flowers.
Now people show support of the men and women that lost their lives by purchaseing a paper poppie flower on Remembrance Day.
Just a little background knowledge for you.😊)
