staring at my reflection in the kitchen window is normally the only time i see myself in the packhouse, my light green eyes have gotten a dull tone to them, my once straight brown hair is in a pile of knots.
looking out at the dishes i sigh out, i hate being the lowest-ranked wolf around here. my mother was the pack slut when i was conceived, my father unknown. which makes me a misfit.
"hey Alexandra" my best friend Katie smiles at me, Katie is the alphas only daughter, she has three older brothers and one younger.
"hey kate" i smile continuing with the dishes, i never knew why she befriended me but i am not going to complain she is the only company i get, the alpha hates that his daughter likes me but he doesn't complain, he would never go against his own daughter that is probably the reason i am not abused like some of the other packs around wish.
"its mikes birthday tomorrow, he can find his mate" she smiles wiggling her eyebrows making me laugh
"also means he can become alpha since Jeremy didn't want to take over" i smile back, she gasps out realizing that it is true, mike is a year older then Katie, Jeremy is three meaning Jeremy was meant to take over, but his mate was the daughter of the alpha of another pack so he left to be with her.
"i can't wait for you to be luna" Katie smiles making me hit her with the dishtowel that i have swung over my shoulder
"Katie you know i am not his mate" i growl out making her smirk
"yea yea, other packs will be coming, so you get tomorrow off" she smiles making me look at her in shock
"i told dad you needed to come to the party and get ready with me" she smiles making me groan out, Katie always seems to find ways for me not to work, she also has it in her head i will be mated to one of her brothers, each year it is a different brother, first she thought it was going to be Jeremy, then her younger brother Noah. but his mate was older than him so they found eachother earlier than expected, now she thinks its mike.
"dress is brought dont disappoint me, little one" she smirks out already knowing i was going to say i needed a dress so couldn't come i continue washing the dishes and stacking them on the drying rack.
once i am done I make my way up to Katies room, because i was a misfit baby my mum kicked me out when she found her mate so i had to move into the packhouse, while my room is in the basement, the room next to the cells i keep all my stuff in Katies room so that it doesn't get ruined.
i pick up my backpack and walk outside, i bearly ever go to school, i mostly go and sit up in a treehouse i made a few years back, i can hear everything they say at the school as well which is an added bonus. the school is around five hundred meters away from the packhouse and is an all werewolf school.
"did you hear the beta of the blood moon pack is coming tomorrow, the alpha can't make it so he is coming in his place, mateless too" i hear some of the pack girls giggling away making me groan out. i jump into the treehouse and listen to the kids talking
"his name is Bart, not exactly attractive but oh well, i hope i am his mate" i hear the same group of girls
"what you talking about malady" i hear Ryker. making me groan internally. Ryker is Katie's twin brother who is older than her by ten mear minutes. i feel sorry for whoever they get as mates. yes, i said it, twins share mates i dont know why but they do, normally they get mated with twins though so they can take there pick of who they get along with best.

the bell rings for the end of the day, i jump out of the treehouse and head back to the packhouse, dropping my bag at the door for Katie to take up to her room i rush into the kitchen and make dinner, the pack likes to eat at four sharp. i grab out chicken, duck, and turkey and hurriedly cook them with roast vegetables and head into the other rooms to clean up the house.
"get some sleep i will see you in the morning" Katie smiles pushing me away from the cleaning and towards my room. not that i am going to complain i am too tired.
