Don't Let Me Go

Since the last time we talked,

I've been trying to forget you.

Your name, it burns in my heart,

and because of you, I find myself believing in things that aren't true.

Your secrets are all I think about,

every moment of every day.

It's so hard to forget,

I know the memories will always stay.

When I see the brightest star,

I remember your eyes.

Even when I crack the silliest joke,

I picture you smile.

Oh why, tell me?

Why is it so hard to let go?

Why do you have to be so perfect and beautiful?

Even when you're away,

I picture you by my side.

The days I spend with you,

you make me feel ever so high.

It's the way you talk that makes me like you,

the way you think so much like me.

The day I first met you,

I felt like I have met another me.

So please hold me closer,

do not let me go.

Love me as I love you,

if you care, then show.

Even when we are just friends,

and I don't know why you mean so much to me,

I'll try and hold on,

I'll try not to leave.

So stay with me.
