Jace's POV//
Worry filled my body as I saw Riele standing there.
What was she doing?
"Riele? Riele! What are you doing here?" I call out to her.
She turns around. She looks scared.
"Jace? What are you doing here?" She asks.
"I told you something came up" I say scratching the back of my head.
She's going to be so mad.
"This is just something? Why didn't you tell me?" She asks.
"I didn't want to upset you. I knew how important this was to Rylan, I just didn't want any trouble." I say.
"Whatever Jace, we'll talk about this later. I have to find Rylan." She starts walking towards the crowd but I grab her.
"No Riele, you can't go in there, it's too dangerous." I say.
"Jace stop, I have to get Rylan." She's trying to get out of my grip, but she cannot go in there.
"Riele, I'm serious. Bad things are about to happen. I will get Rylan for you. You can't go in there, please." I say. The police are about to use gas to calm the riot.
"Promise me you'll get him, please." She looks me in the eye, her beautiful brown eyes.
"I promise." I say instantly.
I kiss her on the forehead and make my way into the crowd.
People yell and scream in my face as I go towards the front of the crowd to spot Rylan.
"Rylan!, Rylan!" I yell.
He turns around to see me.
"Jace? What are you doing?" He asks.
"Riele is here, she wants you to leave. I promised her I'd get you." I say.
"Why should I listen to you?" He says examining my uniform."
"Please Rylan, something bad is going to happen. Riele is scared, she doesn't want anything to happen to you." I say.
He pauses for a second. And then nods.
"Come on, she's over this way." I say.
Next thing you know people are screaming. Oh no.
The gas.
Rylan and I start running. Everyone is.
We run off to the side so we don't get barricaded by the crowd.
We stay there until we could cross the street to where Riele is standing.
We make it there safely and Riele jumps into Rylan's arms.
"I'm okay Riele." Rylan says.
"Please, never do that again" Riele says on the verge of tears.
Riele releases Rylan from the hug and hugs me.
"Thank you." She says.
"No problem." I say.
"That was real cool what you did for my sister, sorry that I doubted you." Rylan says as he gives me a bro hug.
"Norman!" We hear someone yell. We turn around it's one of my fellow police force.
He jerks his head for me to come join him and the rest of the force.
I say goodbye to Riele and Rylan.
What an eventful night.
