My silence is sponsored.

I am sworn to secrecy.

I'm currently on standby,

so press "on" when you need me.

I'm permanently on mute.

I'm actually a spy.

I time travelled from the future,

so speaking could damage time.

I hate humans.

I'm constantly sad,

I'm just a really weird person,

so being quiet means I'm mad.

I say nothing due to trauma.

I'm just really dumb.

I'm actually just stupid,

so I speak to no one.

The truth is that there is no reason.
I'm quiet because I am.

People never say "Why are you so loud?"

because that conversation never began.

It's rude, condescending and not needed anyway,

so why is its counterpart totally okay?

I'll repeat.

The truth is that there is no reason.

I'm quiet because I am.

So I'll continue to sit there, not saying a single word and only listening in.

Just because I can.
