SHE FELT NOTHING.
All she could think of herself now, in every moment that she felt pass by, was an empty void. It had not taken long for her to take his words to a deep thought, an hour at most to which she was ordered to give a report. She had not moved from her spot in more than a few hours and the looks she was given as multiple people walked by were ignored. She had a choice to make.

"You know, I heard it was Vanessa's fault he died. She watched from afar as they both shot their final round! Perhaps she was scared? Frozen in place? Maybe she isn't as strong as we think she is!" The taunting laugh of one of many members that belonged to her place of work rang throughout the dark building. Those who were closest went silent, different expressions on each and every one of their faces.

Perhaps she was weak. Perhaps she did just watch. It was her fault. If she had only gotten there sooner, he would have been fine. He would still be here, sitting across from her as she told a stupid joke she had told to him a thousand times already. She would be flirting with him like normal, asking him to join her in a double-suicide. He should be here, not her.
