There will be plenty of things that will try to ruin your happiness or that'll try and bombard you but you have to learn how to tune it out. For example: you're happy and you get a call from a friend saying your crush doesn't like you or saying they saw your gf/bf with someone else, of course you're going to want to react in a negative manner but you can't let little things like that control your life. You have to learn how to let go at times and you have to remember things happen for a reason and if you learn to positively deal with the situation you'll elevate into a stronger person. So don't let anything distract or stop you from reaching your happiness because it'll definitely lower your confidence levels.
