CHAPTER- 73

The days passed and Anika grew busy with every passing day after she joined her office. Mostly Shivay came early and waited for her. One thing changed between them and that is their sexual relation. Whenever he wanted her close, she kept saying that she is tired and slept. He was missing her really much and most importantly he was missing her care and concern towards him. Every morning he offered to drop her at office thinking they would get to spend time but she kept denying that because Thomas picked her up and dropped her back. He wondered that why is he so affected when he knows the pressure of her new job. But still it affected him, what affected him the most was growing friendship between Thomas and Anika. The everyday good night hug that Thomas gave to Anika after dropping her in front of their house has irked him. These all were going inside his head but still he tried behaving normal, as much normal as he could.

That day too he was waiting for her after preparing the dinner and heard the sound of a car coming to halt. Then laughing sound of Anika came.

"Pretty lady see ya tomorrow" he heard Thomas say the line

"Ohh daady go to your home now, bye" this next voice was of Anika's.

After that he heard the sound of the car going away. Anika tiptoed towards him and hugged him tight from back dropping a wet kiss over his cheek. He didn't move his eyes from the magazine he was reading. Seeing zero response from him Anika naughtily came in front and tried sitting over his lap but still he remained unaffected. Then snatching the magazine and throwing it away she successfully sat over his lap and pecked over his lips. He remained unaffected, unlike him.

"What happened mister husband? Why such a cold behaviour? Okay I know how to brighten your mood up" saying so she passed a naughty smirk and started opening the buttons of his shirt.

"Anika I am not in mood, please go get freshened up, eat and then sleep" he calmly said continuously trying to ignore their eye contact.

Anika at once stopped. She was noticing this indifferent behaviour of him from past few days but suddenly this entirely cold behaviour had her in surprise. Distancing herself from him she sat beside holding his hand.

"What is the matter Shivay?" she asked trying to make him look at her which she failed.

"Really tired Anika so can we please go and have our food?" she wasn't at all convinced but accepting his words she went inside to get freshened up while he went to serve their food.

That night they calmly ate without discussing much about their day. She tried starting conversation but every time he ended it saying they should not talk while having food. She grew suspicious, until morning he was good. Means his behaviour wasn't this much cold. She left the matter and washed the dishes after they completed having dinner. He by then went and called his family, it has become a routine for them to call the family at least thrice in the week. Last time Anika has informed them about getting a job and all of them were so happy. This time as Shivay started speaking everyone had questions regarding Anika's job.

"Okay fine just talk to her, I know I doesn't even exist" he got irritated as every new topic landed up over the discussion of Anika's new job and left from there.

"Everything is alright beta?" Pinky asked.

"Yes mom, maybe he got irritated as no one asked about his day and kept discussing mine" Anika tried convincing although knowing that it is never going to convince the family.

"Okay you both sleep now, good night" saying so daadi cut the call.

She knew that they are not convinced. This side everyone thought to give the couple sometime because no one had any heart to enter inside their matter. Shivay then returned calming himself down just to see that Anika has already cut the call. He felt bad for shouting over everyone and suggested another call to say sorry but Anika stopped him. Agreeing to her he lied down. She wrapped him close to her keeping her head over his chest but he distanced him and turned to other side. She kept looking at his figure with the hope that he will turn towards her and would pull her towards him. But nothing of that sort happened and she fell asleep.
