It surprised Chadwick how normal it was for the two of them to go spend time with one another yet it was another feeling when he knew that his love for Rue was being reciprocated. Chadwick knew exactly the moment he fell for her but he didn't know when Rue started to also see him in a new light. Was it that one afternoon in the car ride to his parent's house? Was it all those times spent apart? Or was it his short time with socialite Penelope Voight? But, at this point, he could care less.

Chad feels her arms wrap around his torso and Rue adjusts her position so that she was basically hugging his side. Rue places a chaste kiss on his exposed shoulder and softly says, "You're thinking too much, Chad."

Chad hums and strokes her brown hair. "I always knew you were the girl for me, Ruelle."

Rue looks up at him, meeting his brown eyes, and crinkles her nose in mild disgust. "That's so corny, Boseman."

"It' true. I didn't want anyone else. Those other girls or the little dates just didn't feel right. This-" He stops stroking her hair and holds her hand firmly, as if he just wasn't willing to let go ever. "Us. It feels honest and real."

Rue sits up, propping her elbow, so she was hovering over him. She had this smile on her-a smile solely reserved for him and playful glint in her eyes sparks whenever it met his. Rue just knows that, whenever she would search for his eyes in a big crowd, it was the calm in the storm.

"I love you." She tells him sincerely, caressing his face gently.

"More than a best friend should?" He asks, his lips pulling up into a smirk.

Rue nods and leans in for a kiss. "More than a best friend should."

Finally, their lips met and there was nothing interrupting the pair's small moment-no cameras, no people screaming, no Perfect Penny. It was just Chad and Rue in their own little universe.
