SCARLET'S POV
the school scene

It's been about a week since I last went to Alex's house and we've been doing okay since. But, I'm still too much of a pussy to confess my feelings for him so it's just been a ton of flirting and hand holding. Also, I think he thinks that I'm not into him ever since the whole kissing incident, so he hasn't tried making any moves either.

As I was walking to my locker, one of my friends from the football team came up to me.

"Hey, Scarlet!" Zach greeted me as we walked side by side.

Zach was one of the most good lucking guys in the school, and for some reason he had a crush on me. He had confessed it to me one drunken night—except he was completely shitfaced and I was sober. So, he doesn't remember it.

"Zach! Hi! Haven't seen ya in a hot minute," I said to him, smiling.

He laughed as he nodded, "yeah, I've been busy trying to keep my grades up. You know how coach is. Every 1 missing assignment equals to 10 push ups. So far, I have 200 to do," he sheepishly said.

I nearly choked on my spit as my eyes widened, "ZACH!"

We both laughed out loud as he said, "I knowwww! But man, calculus is a fucking bitch."

I rolled my eyes, "I passed that shit with flying colors last year."

He smirked, "exactly! That's why I came up to you. I wanted to know if you maybe wanted to tutor me?" He nervously asked as he gave me a smile.

I grinned at him, "I'd be happy to help, Z."

He clapped his hands and put an arm around me, "perfect! I knew my girl had my back."

I laughed as I just leaned my head on his shoulder.

Once we got to my locker, I noticed Alex was already standing there watching us as I made eye contact with him.

I turned to Zach and patted him on the chest, "alrighty, Z. Gotta get to class now. I'll see you later, okay?" I asked him.

He smiled as he ruffled my hair and ran away, "I'll be waiting!" He yelled from behind his shoulder.

I rolled my eyes and fixed my hair as I went to my locker, "Hey, Alexis," I greeted him as I gave him a kind smile.

He had on a black Adidas hat today instead of his normal beanie. He also wore a gray hoodie with plain black jeans yet for some reason, he managed to make it all look so good.

"You never told me you were friends with Zach," Alex immediately told me as he eyed Zach from a couple feet away

I raised a brow, "didn't think it was important. Why, Quack? You jealous?" I teasingly asked as I put my books in my locker.

He huffed as he looked down at his feet, "no, just curious. Also, stop calling me that."

I giggled as I closed my locker, "don't worry about him, Alex. We're just gonna go study together soon cause he needs help with calculus."
