If you were a color,
you'd be red.
You eat away at me,
replenish me,
yet make me weak.

Empty yet full,
regretful yet content.
You pour from me
in a waterfall-like stream.

You span across the edges of the earth.
You pull me tighter to you,
hold me closer.
I struggle to breathe.

I don't want this anymore,
can't you leave me be?
Why must you cut into me like so?
Why must I spill over you?

You're red,
like the blood in my veins.
Like the flame of passion you stole from me.

I'm begging you,
please stop.
