Illusions (Sonadow)

Chapter 7

Sonic's P.O.V.
I ran. I ran and ran until my legs weren't responding any more. I stopped in my tracks when I saw where I was.

There was a beautiful waterfall, the water was sparkling in the sun... Just how Shadow's eyes sparkled when I first told him that... I loved him...

I sighed and sat down right next to the small lake.  This doesn't make sense. If he hated me, why did he teach me how to swim...? Why did he waste so much time to tell me that he wasn't actually love with me...? Why would he waste money in an engagement ring...?

I tried to calm down, the more I thought about it, the more questions I had.

I looked up and dropped my ears when I saw Metal staring at me.

"M-Metal...? But... I destroyed you...?" I quickly stood up and stuttered from the sudden pain that ran throughout my body. I tried to ignore the pain and fight, but I was too weak to cause him any damage.

He hit me multiple times, he showed no mercy, he opened the cuts that had just closed from my fight with Shadow and held me up by my neck. I grabbed his wrist and gasped for air. "L-let me g-go..."

I struggled to breathe as I kicked and punched Metal, I stopped in my tracks when I saw those crimson red eyes that I had fallen in love with, or so I thought

He was smirking at me as he stood next to the same jackal that I so before he started fighting me. I didn't get to say anything when I felt something hit me harshly behind my head and passed out. Again.

Shadow's P.O.V.
I stopped in front of the waterfall where I proposed to Sonic, it was a magical night, I could tell by Sonic's expression that he was happy, or so I thought.

I sat down by the lake, sobbing softly as I tried to process what just happened.

I lost my fiance. My lover. My soulmate. My everything.

He died, he cheated on me and used me... Probably for my money... Or the fame that he changed me...

I didn't know how to feel about this, I thought he was a kind, sweet, innocent heart, that would never lie to anyone. Why did he use me?

I looked down at the water, my tears falling down on it, when the water calmed down, I noticed Rose looking at me through the reflection on the water.

"We need to talk." She said calmly, but her glare was saying otherwise.

"I don't have to talk about anything." I looked at my reflection. I looked pathetic.

"Yes you do." Her annoying voice continued bothering me.

"I do n-" I stood up and turned around to see G.U.N. agents standing next to her

"Shadow the hedgehog, you're coming with us." A female voice said and walked to me.

"Rouge? But why...?" I asked in disbelief, my best friend is against me?

"For what you did to Sonic." She said emotionlessly and cuffed me up and took me to G.U.N., then walked to a room I could recognise very well.

They were taking me to a room that I always feared, the room that they always tortured me for the littlest mistake I made.

My heart beat faster by each step I made closer to the door. I knew there was no way I could leave, I've tried so many times and always failed.

Narrator's P.O.V.
"Perfect!" Eggman laughed and cackled evilly. "Everything is going according to plan." He smirked at he looked at the two separate screens.

"How will this help us take over the world?" A black and white fox asked and rolled his eyes, impatient to be the ruler of the world and make everyone fear him. Eggman evilly smirked as he kept looking at the screens.

"Soon, my friend. You'll see."
