Illusions (Sonadow)

Chapter 9

Sonic's P.O.V.
"Perfect." The voice said after Shadow disappeared. I panted heavily as I sobbed, knowing that I hit his sensitive spot. He might be strong outside, but his heart is sensitive... For Maria only...

Just about when I was about to dash away. I got hit.

I groaned and fell on the ground. "N-not ag-gain..." I mumbled when I saw Shadow, his anger fuming as he growled and glared at me, I knew I was dead by then.

Suddenly, everything began to shake and everything around me disappeared in an instant.

The forest, the waterfall, the voice that was still laughing and even Shadow. The only left was the same white room where Shadow had betrayed me...

"Sonic?!" I looked around when I heard someone call my name, no one was there.

"Sonic!!" I heard the voice again, but this time, I couldn't move, my body felt weak and my vision got blurry.

"W-who's th-there...?" I mumbled as I tried to keep myself awake, with no luck.

For once again, I blanked out.

Shadow's P.O.V.
"Will he be okay...?"

"I don't know... His wound is very deep... He might not make it..."

"No! He must live! What about Sonic!"

"Shh! Amy! Don't shout!"

"Sorry..."

I slowly woke up, Sonic's name standing out, my heart breaking as I remembered what he had told me. Was I a loser to him all that time?

"No he doesn't" Said a soft, angelic voice.

I slowly opened my eyes, everything was dark, the only think that I could see was ...Maria...!

I looked at her in shock, I felt tears roll down my muzzle. "M-Maria...?"

"Don't worry Shadow." She said and hugged me. "He didn't mean it."

I hugged back and closed my eyes, I missed her a lot... But I also missed Sonic...

"B-but... He said it... With so much hatred... So much anger..." I mumbled, trying to stop the tears. "The only thing that he didn't mean was when he said yes... When I proposed to him..."

Maria shook her head and rubbed my back gently, she tried to copy Sonic's way, she did it exactly like him, but it wasn't the same.

I purred quietly, very quietly since it was calming and I also missed her, but I wanted Sonic to hug me, or to at least tell me what I did wrong.

"You did nothing wrong." Maria shook her head. "Someone hurt him. They hurt him just like they hurt you."

I looked at her, both confused and relieved. "What do you mean...?"

"You saw Sonic die, right?" She said as if it was nothing serious. I dropped my ears and slowly nodded as I sobbed softly, remembering everything that had happened.

"But you also saw him on the waterfall." She smiled slightly and wiped my tears. "The first one was an illusion, but the second wasn't.

I dropped my ears and stayed quiet with my eyes wide open. I had so many questions, how did I see the illusion? Is Sonic okay? Who was responsible for this? Did he mean what he said?

"Shadow...?" I heard Maria and snapped out if my thoughts then looked at her.

"Yes?" I lowered my ears as I saw her fading away.

"Stay strong. Tell him how much he means to you. Make him trust you again." She smiled softly and kissed my forehead before she disappeared.

I gasped and quickly sat up. I was in a hospital, the wound was stitched and had bandages around my stomach and torso.

"Hun! I'm so glad you're okay!" Rouge ran to me and opened her arms for a hug. But I growled at her to leave me alone.

"Where's Sonic?" I asked them with anger. They all pointed at the bed on the other side of the room. "Why is he there!?" I was about to stand up when Rouge pushed me back down.

"I'm sorry Hun, but you can't get up, your cut need to heal first." She said in a serious yet concerned voice then crossed her arms. "We also need some explanation."

I raised a brow and slowly shook my head. "For what...?" I lowered my ears when I saw that Sonic his engagement ring and looked at Rouge. "Where's his ring...?" I said with sadness in my voice.

Rouge and Tails looked at each other then at me with their ears lowered.

"He... Threw it away..." Rouge mumbled lowly. "That's why need you. What did you do to him?"

I dropped my ears and looked at Sonic as I felt my eyes water. "I didn't... Do anything..." I sobbed softly.

"That doesn't make sense Shadow! Why would he throw his ring away if you didn't do something?" Rouge put her hands on her hips and raised a brow at what I said.

"I didn't do ANYTHING!!" I snapped at them. "It wasn't me!"

"Then why would he do that?" Tails asked confused and looked at Sonic who groaned as he slowly woke up.

"W-where am I...?" He said lowly to himself and looked around, when he saw me he gasped and growled.

"You again?" He said in a cold and emotionless expression... Just like me...

I dropped my ears and looked down at my hands. He hates me. He really does.
