Illusions (Sonadow)

Chapter 16

Sonic's P.O.V.
I woke up crying, it wad the 4th night in a row that I had those dreams. Those things I saw of Shadow dying and using me were playing every night as I slept. I felt a bit more safe at the ARK but I knew I couldn't stay here.

I had to leave. I had to go to look for Shadow. For all I know that jackal and Eggman had him.

"Let's do it Doctor! I'll help you change the world!" I heard him. He was here. I looked around and the room turned white. I was not at the ARK anymore. "Well look who it is, the blue little saviour. But what's that smell? You reek of fear. Glad to see I left an impression on the rat." I looked up and saw him. My ears were pinned down as I growled.

"Where are you?!" I growled furiously.

"Sonic." It was another voice. "Sonic. Wake up." Maria's voice. "Its a dream. He's not here. Wake. Up. Shadow needs you." I turned but couldn't see anyone. "You have to wake up." The Jackal disappeared. "Wake up!"

"Wake up!" I gasped and sat up. Tails was shaking me. "Sonic! Are you okay?" He quickly asked once he saw I opened my eyes.

"I-I'm...fine... We need to go back already..." I said and Tails looked at me with his ears lowered and nodded.

"I'll call Mephiles." He said and I nodded.

"Thank you for- Sonic! Where are you going?!" I quickly dashed away ignoring Tails shouting.

I couldn't wait any longer, Maria told me he needed me. Maria told me he was alive. He was waiting, he was waiting for me to save him. He was waiting for me and I couldn't leave him.

It was a mistake. Everything I did and said to him was a mistake. I should had trusted him, I should had known this had to do with Eggman. Shadow isn't that way, he changed, and there is no way he used me. No way.

I spin dashed the front doors of Eggman's base and growled furiously. I kept hearing Dark trying to talk to me but I was ignoring him.

The base was extremely quiet. I walked in trying to stay as quiet as possible even though I just broke down the doors. I wanted to hear if someone was around. This was strange, by now even a single robot would had tried to attack me but nothing.

I was being extra careful thinking it was a trap but even then, he would had attacked me by now. I kept glancing at every direction possible as I kept walking.

I made it to his main room and saw the monitor, it had the clips of all the cameras. I saw the Jackal, Eggman and Metal in a room labeled E126. I immediately started walking around thinking maybe they had Shadow there.

I kept looking and looking but I couldn't find that room. 'I can help.' Dark tried for me to let him out but I kept ignoring him. 'Give me a chance. This time I will kill him for sure.'

'You're not getting out until I find him. Then I'll give you another chance. If you fail again, Dark. You're dead.' I growled and kept looking around.

"Well well~" I looked up at the speakers. They knew I was here. "Are you looking for us~?" It was the Jackal again. "Come on Rat, give it up or you want me to make you suffer as much as your lover did?"

I growled furiously at that. "WHERE ARE YOU?! WHERE IS HE?!" I snarled furiously trying to look around for him. Dark would usually use my energy as if it was nothing so I didn't want to let him out so soon. He would start destroying things and hurting me as well in the process, it was best if I find them first then let him out.

"You won't find me but you can find Shadow in his casket. So sad, I always thought the Ultimate Life Form would be harder to kill. I thought he would make a better opponent. I hope you give me more of a fight than he did, Rat." The Jackal laughed and I could feel my eyes watery as I growled loudly.

"I'm going to find you... And I swear I'm going to kill every single one of you!!!" I snapped as I started letting Dark take over. I was furious at his words.
