"What's that you got?" I asked in a curious tone.
"It's a bird." My companion beamed. "I found it under the tree! I'm going to nurse it back to health." She smiled and held the animal gently in between both of her hands and let its little head poke out to let me take a look at it. "Give the bird to me." I asked her.
"You wanna hold it for yourself, Vik?" She asked. "Yeah Iva, let me take look."
She gave the creature to me and I held it so very carefully. It made me smile as I pet it's fluffy silky down with my index finger.
It's pretty weird to find baby birds around during the end of summer now that I think about it, I always thought that they were ONLY exclusively born during the spring time. We took the bird inside my friend's house and put it in a box. "I do not think this is a very good idea." I groaned. "We might kill it, even. Maybe it is just a fledgling or maybe it just fell out of it's nest. Either way, it might die." I informed her.
Soon after this happened, her mom came over and asked us what we were going on about. Ivana gave her the information and she said: "You should've let that thing outside! It's lathering in parasites and diseases. If it was left out there under the tree it could've been because it was sick and it's mother kicked it out. It's gonna die ether way." As she finished saying this I gave Ivana an 'I told you so' smirk, she simply rolled her eyes and said: "You think so?" Everyone paused. "The weak die, Iva." I muttered as Iva and her mom went completely silent.
The silence was broken as my ride conveniently came. I said goodbye, rushed downstairs and hopped into my ride.

I wasn't be able to see her for a year or so after that.

"I'd like some chili cheese fries and a small drink, please" I told the guy behind the counter at this 80's restaurant. While he was putting my order in, I decided to admire the aesthetic of the restaurant.
It had a nice theme to it and it was almost like I was living in that time period. It had checkered green and white flooring accompanied by red tables with white chairs and neon red lights. The whole front part of the restaurant had these big windows that gave a hug to the building. The workers had striped and white aprons over a red shirt and little paper hats that read: 'Munchies N Krunchies'

"That would be 5 dollars please." I gave him my money and in exchange he gave me my number and receipt, I filled my cup up with water and scurried over to a table near a window. I was pondering.

It's summer and I just got out of Military school called Silver Creek Academy. It's not like I hated Silver Creek, I actually found it quite entertaining but it just wasn't for me.  I found it stressful. Since then, I've changed and it was just getting in the way. I had to get rid of it after my 1st year there. Thankfully my parents were understanding and signed me up for high-school again.

These thoughts were cut off as I heard a calming voice like butter tell me: "Here's your food sir."

I jumped and embarrassingly turned my head around to find myself looking at a familiar face. It was Ivana, my only long time friend, you could tell how her personality was by just looking at her. She was above average height for females, strong features and had fiery red eyes.

Her eyes made me melt, it's been so long since I've seen them. She was a translator for me at school, since my English was really shitty back then. We've been really close friends but after I joined Silver Creek, we stopped talking because I didn't really get chances to see her, I was busy and we couldn't keep in touch digitally because I forgot to ask her about her number. God I feel like such a jerk.

"Viktor, I almost didn't recognize you! You look so different since the last time I saw you, I'm so sorry!" She laughed.  She then sat next to me and asked: "Are you ready for another year at Silver Creek Academy?"

"Nope, I quit. I can't bare another year because it just doesn't fit with my goals. I've changed my mind, I don't want to be in the military." I stated.

She looked into my eyes and consoled me:  "Growing up is really tough. Especially if you don't have your goals planned out yet. Welp, I shouldn't really talk to you,  I'm working."

"Thank you, Ivana. You always know what to say, you've never changed. You're as strong as ever. Have fun working." I smiled. "When can we hang out again?"

She was walking away but she turned back hastily: "After my shift, then we can hang out. I'll be out in 1 more hour. Meet me at the park, I'll be waiting." She smiled and waved at me. "Enjoy your meal!"
