100,000. The estimated number of deceased in the Seige was 100,000. The President knew that the only course of action was for war. A unanimous vote in the Congress voted for war against this alien race. The assault on the Capital was a declaration of war. After mobilizing the reserve troops, the Preisdent ordered 50,000 soldiers to invade the Red Planet. The Law humanity had broken had meant nothing to them now. They needed Terran, and they would fight to keep themselves alive.

Jason Hathaway, a man of no older than 17, was part of the reserve troops. He had signed up when he was in school to be a reserve because the Alliance paid for his way through collage. He wanted to become a bachelor of Law Enforcement, and was using the Alliance Collage Service Funds to get into collage. He was called, along with about 15 other men from his school, out of his school to board a dropship and get ready to be sent to Basic Training. He was going to be sent in with the last wave of the invasion. Their basic training would last 30 days. It usually lasted MUCH longer than that, however there was not at all time for it.

Jason was standing in line with 50 other people. He was classified in 107th Fox Division, which used to be part of America's military in 2014. But, that was hundreds of years ago.

"When I call your name, you will say 'Here!' and then head inside the barracks and find a bunk! Christian!"

"Here!" replied Christian, walking off into the barracks.

"Jonas!"

"Here!" replied Jonas, also walking off.

"Hathaway!"

"Here!", Jason yelled.

Jason walked over to the barracks and found a bunk under Christian. Jonas was in another section of the barracks. Soon, after about 10 minutes, most of the barrack was filled.  The drill instructors had them head outside first thing in the morning. Literally, first thing in the morning. It was 0300, 3:00 AM and Jason was ready to fall asleep on the person to the left of him, who also was about to fall asleep on Jason. They were marching towards absolutely nowhere. Infact, he had seen that tree before. And that one. Were they going in circles? There weren't any curves on the path. Maybe it was sleep deprivition? Who cares. They finally arrived at a destination; discipline training.

"About face!" yelled the drill instructor. Instantly, 50 men turned 180 degrees and stared straight ahead. One person at the opposite end of the line Jason was in was a bit too slow.

"What are you doing?!" yelled the drill instructor at a man named Nicholas. The instructor pulled out a baton and his Nick in the legs. "You will keep up to speed with everyone else!" said the instructor, marking his final words. Jason couldn't help but glance very quickly. Nick had a sorrowful expression. Jason looked back almost instantly.

"Left face!" ordered the drill instructor. Nick was having trouble again. He couldn't help but laugh when a drill instructor was disciplining another comrade. "Nicholas! Are you laughing?"

"No, sir!"

"Are you lying to me? Get up here!"

"Yes, sir!"

Nick followed orders and went up in front of the platoon. He was hit in the side with a baton and fell over. The drill instructor hit him 3 more times in the side, kicked him, and yelled "Get up and tell your platoon what was so funny!" Nick announced that he thought the comrade's apparel was funny, as his comrade's hat was incorrectly worn. "Thank you for your honesty, Nick. Fall in."
