There is a madness in loving you, a lack of reason that makes it feel so flawless. — Leo Christopher

"What do you have for lunch Annabelle?"

Annabelle looked down at her neatly wrapped lunch examining it before carefully untying the cloth, a singular red apple sat along with several heavily jammed biscuits made from the night before paired with a slice of cake and a small sandwich. Taking the biscuits she placed one in each of the girl's hands, "You don't want them?" Tilley asked whilst looking down at the biscuit gleefully.

"Oh no I can make more when I get home" She responded

"You made them?" Anne asked to which Annabelle nodded feeling a little glint of pride in her heart, Anne smiled excitedly "They are wonderful! I am such a terrible baker but I'm getting better, I hope to enter the carnivals contest at some point" Annabelle smiled "Perhaps you could let me help! I'd love to be able to bake with you" Anne looked so happy Annabelle was afraid she might cry "That sounds wonderful!"

Annabelle herself realised at that moment perhaps she was the one who would cry because for once in this sunny little corner of her new school she was surrounded by people. not just people, her new friends. And they liked her biscuits. The ones she stayed up making out of pure anxiety.

"Oh my!" Tilley exclaimed, The girls all bite into them joyfully as Anne wiped away the crumbs from her face." The feeling of warmth and comfort settled into Annabelle as the group all sat eating and doing what a normal girl her age would do.
"Oh goodness it's already the end of lunch and I forgot about my milk in the Brooke!"
Anne quickly stood up smiling
"I'll get it for you, Diana!"
as Anne turns quickly she forgets about the sheet hanging and walks straight into it falling into a desk, the sound of a painful cry comes out as she lands on the floor. The sound of loud footsteps comes crashing into the schoolhouse, before Annabelle can even think, rage fills her because there stands Billy, the boy from this morning. She stood up quickly rushing to Anne, What happened?!" Exclaimed Billy, the sound of Anne whimpering due to the pain in her ankle came in response, "Anne!?" Gilbert yelled out as he burst through rushing to her other side. "We need a bandage, some pillows and Ice!" Moody ran to the store room "I'll get the bandages and pillows!" Annabelle simply couldn't even focus her anger at the fact she hadn't seen him in the class earlier but held back as she knew Anne desperately needed medical attention

Diana grabbed her coat "Miss Corin should have something cold!" she bolted out the door as Gilbert grabbed the pillows from moody elevating Anne's foot. He looked so focused as Anne held back tears whilst squeezing Annabelle's hand. She watched Gilbert's hands expertly and smoothly wrap her ankle, Anne stared at Gilbert with a grateful look. "I'm going to get...you some water Anne" She stood up about to walk away when Gilbert picked up Anne in his arms "We need to get her to Dr James"

Anne sobbed finally burying her face into Gilbert's chest, something inside Annabelle tightened in an unfamiliar feeling. Annabelle couldn't bring herself to move, her head was spinning and she felt an overwhelming pain but she couldn't quite work out if it was real or not...

Annabelle's first feeling was how soft her sheets were and how undeniably comfortable she was of course until the comfort slowly subsided to reveal a crippling weakening pain throughout her whole body which started in her chest.
"Annabelle"
The piercing familiar sound of Annabelle's name being called  fully awoke her from the dazed state that she had been in
"Cousin!", Annabelle had merely a second to process who and what had suddenly wrapped it's long muscly arms tightly around her, and then it hit her. "Sam?" he scoffed "yeah no shivers" he mocked, but before she could even laugh, the memory of the moments before the blank in her memory returned the lunch, Anne and that pain in her head and body. When and how did she get here? "Sam. what happened?" she asked, fear mixing with that dull sharp pain as she felt suffocated in confusion, "Calm down Annabelle I can tell what your thinking and no nobody knows" a brief sigh of relief before she opened her ask to prompt more from him, "But you may want to say thank you to that boy who was there with you, if he hadn't of been looking for you no one would have known you fainted" she tilted her head "What boy?"

A knock at the door shook both Annabelle and  Samuel out of their conversation, The door creaked open and Aunt mary appeared, "Oh Annabelle thank goodness you are awake". "I almost called Phillip down but I was hoping it was just a fainting spell.". "It's okay auntie I'm fine" Mary smiled in that way she so often did and suddenly Annabelle couldn't help but notice how tired her aunt looked, lines from stress decorated her beautiful rosy cheeks and dark colours surrounded the under of her eyes, the fact that she had made her Aunt Mary only worry more since her arrival had been a recurring fear. "One day child You are going to give me a heart attack" Samuel Chuckled with his mother but the eery feeling behind those words struck Annabelle like a fire to a barn.
