Why would either of you do something like this?

I don't know, ok? I just don't. I've never done anything like this before and I don't know how to deal with it. But I feel just a little bit less guilty if I don't talk to her. If I talk to her, I feel like I'm cheating on him all over again.
Iron Dad:
I get that but that's not how it works.
Pineapple Penelope:
What do you want me to say? I have enough to deal with right now and I can't deal with whatever this is with her. Not right now.
Iron Dad:
You have to deal with it at some point. Both of you do. And as much as you want to ignore it, you can't do that forever.
Pineapple Penelope:
I promise I'll deal with it at some point, but not right now.
