"It's all my fault and there's nothing I can do about it." Tears were falling and the woman was in hysterics after telling Chris what had happened, "I'm the cheater, I'm the terrible person."
"You're not a terrible person, Penny. You made a mistake."
"I'm a terrible person, Chris. I knew exactly what I was doing and I didn't care. I just did it anyway."
"You were drunk."
Penny's face fell into her hands as she sobbed, "I was, but I knew that I was sleeping with her and I knew I shouldn't. But I did it anyway and that's what makes me a terrible person."
"Penny-"
Penny's whole body shook as she pushed Chris' outstretched hand away.
"I did this to myself and now he's gonna take Addie away from me. I've already lost enough this year. I can't do this."
