———-PROLOGUE————

It had started off to a good day, the sun was bright and warm, the lilies had finally bloomed, and Gracie, her best friend, was finally returning from her adventure to the Frost pack. Victoria smiled leaning over the balcony of their palace. The balcony was attached to her room, for it was a place she spent most of her days watching her pack. She couldn't help, but love how they smiled and enjoyed the bright weather. Everything was perfect today.

Her best friend, Gracie, was able to travel to all of the packs, for her father was the Beta (second in command to the King). The Beta did all of the in person negotiating, and although Victoria was happy for Gracie, she couldn't help but feel jealous.

Victoria, being the princess and heir to the Cedar pack throne, was always cozied up in her room. She dreamed constantly of seeing the world, different climates that didn't just stay at warm and beautiful. She wished to see the harsh and the tropical and for once she wanted to feel the cold. One time she turned her bath all the way to freezing and she tried to sit in it, hoping it would give her some idea of what the cold was actually like. It wasn't long before the water warmed and she had to go back to her usual climate.

Although Victoria knew her wishes for travel were a distant dream, at least she would be happy with her mate and her family once she became Queen. Her Mother and Father were both kind, she knew they would wait for her to find her other half as their parents did for her father. So Victoria wasn't too worried, she was sure some lucky Cedar Wolf was awaiting her.

"Vic!" A small voice yelped from the doorway of her room, Victoria's over sensitive hearing heard it easily. She tilted her head, quite dog like, as she looked back.

"Good morning Dax," she smiled sweetly at her little brother, his red hair was all out of sorts and he seemed pouty about it.

"Gracie messed up my hair." He stated, his lip beginning to quiver.

"Come here, I'll fix it for you." Victoria smiled widely as a bright grin filled Dax's face. He quickly sat himself in front of her stool, for this happened often and he knew how it worked.

Victoria grabbed a brush and began fixing his silky hair. It was getting a little long, hopefully the maid would cut it soon, or Dax would soon be complaining about the heat. Once finishing he jumped up and smiled at her before patting her hair.

"Your turn, you can't go into the court room looking like that." Victoria scoffed, for he had just insulted her hair. She caught a glance in the mirror and realized a messy bun would not work for a Princess.

"Your right, you tell mom I'll be down soon." Dax nodded, a knowing smile filling his face before he bolted out of the room.

Victoria sighed as she released her hair ty and began brushing her hair. It was the same dark red as Dax's but not as silky, it mostly didn't enjoy the humid climate she lived in. So it was usually frizzy, but if she brushed it enough it could last for a bit.

Finally deciding she looked presentable, Victoria headed toward the throne room. She was all but unaware of the news to come.
