The Korean flag is called Taegukgi which means "Supreme Ultimate Flag". The flag was designed by King Gojong or Pak Yeong-hyo in 1882. And there is a lot of meaning behind their flag.

The circle in the center of the flag refers to the Yin and Yang - or balance in the universe. Which also stands for creation and development.

The four (4) sets of black lines are called trigrams. The trigrams together represent harmony and movement. Each individual trigram also has its own meaning.

The flag of South Korea features four colors: white, black, red and blue.

The white background is a traditional color in Korean culture that symbolizes purity and peace. The color black is used for the four trigrams, each representing a different virtue. Blue symbolizing negative cosmic forces, while red represents positive cosmic forces.
