There were 2 born for each other: one who could read the waves of life, the other who could control the sky. One was a sailor destined to be king, and the other was a dragon warrior fated to be his queen. Alone, they were formidable, but together th...
I own nothing Chapter 2: A Reunion in a Dungeon Sinbad and the green haired general pressed against the canyon wall trying to hide from the creatures of the dungeon. The dungeon had appeared years ago with a promise of a great power for the person who would conquer it. Thousands had tried, but none ever returned, gaining it the title of the Hole of Death. Upon the insistence of the stranger Yunan, and seeing as his arrogant partner would kill him and torment his village if he didn't, the 14 year old decided to take on the challenge. 5 minutes in, and he bore witness to the slaughter of several soldiers. "How did you get inside the dungeon before me? I thought I was the first one in," Sinbad asked the green haired male. "You're that pacifist kid," he spat. "Go mind your own business," "What?" "I'm a soldier, I've no reason to be helped by a traitor who's against our nation," Sinbad gave him an annoyed look. "I don't care about stuff like 'reason', what happened already can't be changed," he slumped down on the ground and glared at the boy. "Besides, I saved you and you don't even thank me? Who's the kid here?" The greenette's head shot up in anger. "You're calling me a kid? Fine, I'll explain in a way so a mere commoner like you would also understand! Make a note of my noble name!" He stood up arrogantly and put a hand to his chest. "A general of Parthevia, the youngest of the Dragul family, a son of General Draguliel Henrius Nomidus Pertegomidus, Commander of the Western Region military unit, Dragul Nol Henrius Govius Menudias Partenuvonomias Dumid Os Kartanon," the male smirked evilly until Sinbad retorted plainly. "It's too long. Let's do Drakon for short," the newly dubbed Drakon reeled back. "You're Drakon, okay?" He then attacked Sinbad and the 2 began brawling like children. "You're rude!" "It's way too long! My name is S-I-N-B-A-D, only six letters!" "How dare you insult the Dragul name! I'm going to kill you!" The 2 move away from each other to draw their swords when a large shadow engulfed them. Looking up, they saw a giant dragon accompanied by the smaller ones. The 2 backed closer to the wall. "It looks like," Sinbad started. "There's no time to be fooling around," Drakon finished. 3 dragons suddenly dove at the 2, snapping and growling. Sinbad smirked. "These guys aren't real dragons!" Drakon looked at him like he was crazy. "What are you babbling about!?" "Real dragons are honorable fighters! They like fighting one on one!" The reptiles dove at them, only for them to be snapped up by a large (H/C) muzzle. The boys stared as the head shook violently, breaking the creatures necks before spitting out the carcasses into the abyss. The boys backed away as the creature's head turned to them, pupil less (E/C) eyes staring into their souls. They drew their swords as it descended from the upper levels of the cliffside, graceful as a cat. It was a dragon, but different than the others in the dungeon. This one had an air of grace and elegance, both in aura and look. It's chest was furred while the rest of the body had scales. It's wings were like that of a bat's with (F/C) membranes between the spines and across the across the bridge of its nose was a bright red scar.

(Basically this with elements from the previous picture) It was no where near as big as the giant dragon, but it was still massive compared to them and the little baby dragons. Slowly it stalked towards them, one paw in front of the other. Drakon pushed his blade forward aggressively while Sin stared. There was something familiar about this dragon. It stopped right in front of them, looming over them. It put its head at eye level with them. "That's a fine way of saying thank you," a female voice sounded from the dragon's mouth. The 2 froze before freaking out. The dragon flicked her tail. "Oh calm down! If I was going to eat you, I would've by now!" "What kind of monster is this!?" Drakon screeched. The reptile gave him a sharp look. "That's no way to talk to a lady!" She then turned and smiled at Sinbad. "It's been quite a while, hasn't it Sinbad?" The purple haired boy stood in shock before his mind raced back to that day, when he'd witness several dragons disappear over the horizon. "(Y/N)?" He asked hopefully. The dragon's smile grew as she shrunk down to her human form. Sinbad raced up and hugged her, the 2 laughing. Drakon stood there awkwardly. "You know her!?" Sinbad nodded fiercely. "Of course! She's my best friend! It's great to see you (Y/N)!" "It's good to see you too Sin," "You look...amazing," His cheeks heated up a bit as he noticed his friend's maturity. She was still growing, but gone was the baby fat of youth, replaced by lean muscle. Like the dragons he remembered, she did have a few battle scars of her own now, but it only seemed to make her more beautiful to him. She blushed a bit as well. "You're looking good yourself!" Drakon stepped between them. "Woman! This dungeon will be conquered in the name of Parthevia. You will stay out of the way!" She whacked him on the head, knocking him to the ground. "Oh piss off, Lord Pompous Ass, I'm not here for the power, I'm just here to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands," "Does that mean you know where it is?" Sinbad asked her. She nodded. "I'll show you," as they followed (Y/N) further into the dungeon, Sinbad and her decided to play catch up. "So you're really a warrior now?!" The boy asked in amazement. "Indeed I am. I was promoted after driving out some scavengers from a rival tribe from our hatchery!" "So what's you're warrior name?" "(W/N)," Sin frowned at her. "You broke your promise," She also frowned. "You said when you became a warrior, you'd come back to Tison," "I'm sorry Sin! I didn't forget, but this mission just got shoved on me!" "Why are you even here?" "Right after I got my Warrior's name, I was preparing to leave for your village when the tribe shaman told my mother about an omen he received. The vision told him that a great power was about to choose a master and if it fell into the wrong hands, it would mean destruction for us all," "So she thought it meant the dungeon?" "Not at first. My mother just sent patrols out to try and find this power, and then some stranger came and he told us the power was in the dungeon," Drakon huffed. "And you believed him?" She growled at him. "We live in an active volcano dim wit, he was entitled to at least be listened too. Anyways, he told us to protect the treasure, but not take it. The tribe would benefit more if another had it," "So why did your mom send you here?" She sweatdropped. "I'm the most expendable," "Ouch! Your own mother?" She shrugged her shoulders. "Hey, the needs of the Tribe first. Besides, I think it's destiny that we would end up meeting again," he smiled at her. "I'm really happy to see you again (Y/N)," she stopped. "We're here," Before them, the giant dragon was sitting with its back facing them. "Look at how big it is," Drakon said. "Yeah, like a king of the dragons," Sinbad retorted. (Y/N) shrugged. "Dragons don't have kings in that sense. And a real dragon wouldn't do that," as she said this, the enormous creature gobbled up 2 unfortunate dragons that came too close. "That thing just ate all the ones it didn't like. The dragon king behaves just like the human king," (Y/N) chuckled while Drakon growled. "Watch your mouth commoner!" Sin ignored him while (Y/N) pointed at the door. "If we want to forage ahead, we have to take that thing down," Sinbad nodded. "This is the place where people fight for their lives. We're being tested too," Drakon stood up and turned his back on them. "Sinbad and (Y/N) were your names correct?" (Y/N) hissed. "It's (W/N) to you. Warriors only get called their real names by family and close friends," he rolled his eyes. "Whatever. You've both earned the honor of becoming my subordinates. Act as decoys to draw its attention. Meanwhile, I'll approach the door. Our determination to completing a mission, no matter the sacrifice, is being tested. Go forth," the 2 gritted their teeth. "Don't impose yourself on us!" Sinbad growled. "We're not obligated to listen to you in here!" His female partner added. Drakon didn't seem to get it through his head. "Commoners like you can be of use to the country, be honored. I'll arrange a reward if you die," Sinbad's eyes were shaded by his hair. "That's enough. You're a real military freak! How many people do you think have gone to die like that!?" Drakon flinched before regaining his composure. "Do not flinch or flee, sacrifice your life for your country. That's our honor as Parthevian soldiers! Dying for our country is our true wish," "Bear dung!" (Y/N) hissed. "Besides, I am not from your country, so I've no wish to die for it. Also, if we're going by blood to discuss our status, I outrank you for not only being the daughter of my tribe's leader, but also the heir!" Drakon ignored her, picked up a fallen shield, and walked away, leaving her huffy. "Fish brain," she muttered. Geysers suddenly sprang up from the walls, shaking the room. (Y/N) saw Sinbad's expression light up. "Got a plan?" "Yup," he retorted. He whispered the idea into her ear as she nodded, turning into her dragon form. The 2 took off after Drakon, only to find he had incurred the dragon king's wrath. The poor boy yelled out he didn't want to die yet. "Yup, fish brain," Before the dragon's lightning could fry him, (Y/N) swooped in, plunking the boy from the jaws of death, expertly flying through the titan's various attacks before landing next to Sinbad. They looked over him. "Hey, pull yourself together!" Sin said as he began to come to. "Get up or you'll die!" Drakon sat up as the dragon king began roaring angrily. (Y/N) spread her wings. "I'll try and draw it's fire. Sin, get a move on," "Kill me," Drakon whispered, to the surprise of the 2. "Kill me. Afraid of enemies and clinging to life? I've failed as a soldier!" (Y/N) slapped her tail across the boy's face. "That is biggest pile of nonsense I've ever heard!" Sin got up. "Don't flinch or flee? Sacrifice your life for your country? What's embarrassing about not wanting to die? It's normal! You're a human before a soldier!" Drakon looked shocked as Sinbad continued his rant. "Has the emperor or the military ever saved people who made sacrifices for their country?" Light enveloped Sinbad as he stood proud and strong. "A country exist to protect the people who live in it. Not to send those people into a war to die. A country that abandons its people is worthless," (Y/N) nodded with a knowing smile before taking flight. The Dragon king roared at her, shooting his lightning at her. She easily evaded it before blasting at it with her own flames and scratching it with her claws. As she distracted the creature, she saw Sinbad climbing higher by surfing the geysers that sprung up with a shield. He slashed the creature's muzzle with his sword as it shot lightning into their air. Sinbad hopped off the shield and landed on (Y/N)'s back. She flew high into the air before diving and propelling Sinbad sword first into the dragon's head. It let out a roar of agony before bursting into light. (Y/N) quickly caught the free falling male and placed him on the ground, returning to her human form. In his grasp was a lime green orb that shone. Drakon stared in wonder before the 2 walked towards the door and opening it. "Let's go," Sin stated with (Y/N) tailing him. "Right behind ya," Drakon hesitated at the opening. "Who exactly are you?" He asked. Both stopped in their tracks. Sinbad didn't even face him as he replied. "Asking who I am? I am me," his head turned with a smile. "Sinbad, the sailor," (Y/N) yawned. "That's all well and good, but can we move this along? I've been in here long enough," The trio marched through the rest of the dungeon, both the sailor and the dragon do the fighting for the most. Drakon was impressed not only by their skills, but how in synch they were with each other. After a long trek, they eventually reached a cathedral like building, huffing and panting. "You still look pale," Sinbad teased Drakon. "Huh, you're out of breath," Drakon retorted. "Your legs seem tired after all that fleeing!" "Thanks to two idiots, I had to run around even more!" Both boys froze as (Y/N) dark figure loomed over them with a sharp look. "We're all tired enough, so stop bickering like hatchlings and let's get this over with," "Yes ma'am!" They squeaked. "I praise you both for doing so well for commoners," Drakon stated. "I thought you were just a spoiled kid, but you're tougher than expected," Sinbad admitted. "Not by much," he added snidely before marching in. "That's my line," Drakon argued while following him. (Y/N) just sighed and followed. They entered a room filled with what looked like stone relics, nothing of great value. "It's all made of stone," Drakon pointed out as he picked up a plate "I don't see anything unusual here," (Y/N) walked over to the shelves and began sniffing. "I don't know, my nose is telling me there's more to this than we're seeing," "How is that possible?" The general asked in bewilderment. She dead pan. "I'm a dragon. Sniffing out treasure is kinda a common skill. How else do you think we build up our hordes?" "I'll have to agree with (Y/N)," Sinbad said as he stopped in front of an old lamp. He gently tapped a symbol on it when it turned blue and began sparking electricity. "Sinbad!" (Y/N) shouted as she raced to his side as massive bolt engulfed the room, turning the artifacts into gold and silver, and more impressively, a massive blue male form with wings and horns stood in front of them. "My name is Baal," it said. "A genie of wrath and heroism. Who's the one to be the king?" "Is this what Yunan was talking about?" Sinbad thought to himself. "The power to become king?" He turned to (Y/N) to see if she had any thoughts, only to see her drooling over the treasure. "(Y/N)!" He yelled in shock. She jumped up in alarm and snapped out of it. "Sorry! That old rumor of dragons being greedy is completely true, we get mesmerized by treasure all the time," Sinbad shook his head and looked down to see Drakon beginning to speak to the genie. He jumped from the higher level and landed gracefully. "The one to become the king is me!" He and Drakon spoke the last word together, glaring at each other. (Y/N) watched them from the upper level, knowing she shouldn't interfere with the inevitable battle. "Don't get in my way Drakon," Sinbad warned. "I'm here by the emperor's direct order," he retorted. "Back off," "Forget the emperor," the sailor seethed. "I won't give anymore power to someone who trampled all over his people! I've decided. With my own power, I will change this country and the world," (Y/N) smiled. "Just like we said we would," Drakon scoffed. "It seems like we'll have to settle this first after all," he drew his sword. "I owe you one for saving me. However, first and foremost, I'm a Parthevian soldier," "Stubborn as a donkey more like it!" The dragon growled at him as Sinbad drew his own sword. "I won't change my will," Baal looked at the competitors vying for his power, then to (Y/N). "Dragon, will you not fight for the right to be king?" The two boys looked at her. She could easily whip the floor with both of them in her dragon form. Luckily, she shook her head. "No, I know my path now. I've decided to follow the one I believe to be the rightful king," She smiled at her friend who smiled right back at her. The genie nodded. "Very well, but you may not interfere. The skill of my future master, show me what you've got," Sinbad dove at Drakon, the two blades clashing. "You're pretty good," the soldier admitted before side stepping, knocking the sailor off his balance. He tried slashing at him, but Sinbad flipped away safely, save for a small cut on his cheek. "Sinbad, you're certainly strong. However," Drakon bolted in at the two began dancing around each other's trying to hit each other. "You're no match for me!" The green haired male knocked the blade from Sinbad's hand and held his sword to his throat. "Sinbad!" (Y/N) called from the sidelines. She hated not being able to help. "Adios," Drakon stated before plunging his sword, only for the purple haired male to catch it with his hands. "Sure, you're better at using a sword," he taunted. "However, we're not competing in swordsmanship," Sin rolled away and then decked Drakon square in the face. (Y/N) winced. "That had to hurt," the soldier struggled to stay on his feet, much to both of their surprise. "I can't lose," he muttered. He turned desperately to face Sinbad. "I haven't lost yet!" He tried throwing a punch, but hand to hand, Sinbad was clearly the superior fighter. Stubborn to a fault, Drakon refused to drop until Sinbad finally knocked him out. He walked away from his fallen opponent and back to the genie. (Y/N) flew next to him and smiled. "I knew you could do it," he gave her a side smirk. "What? Did my own best friend doubt me?" "I'm," Drakon struggled to say as he tried to rise. "I'm disappointed in my own weakness. But she is the one I want to protect. That's why," "I understand that, because I have many reasons why I can't lose," Sinbad sympathized. The dragon nodded her head. "All of us do, that's why we came here," Drakon finally got to his feet and charged Sinbad. (Y/N) jumped out of the way as the two males clashed again. Sinbad was the victor. "My win," he stated. "I've witnessed it," Baal stated. "I approve you to be my master. Take this!" As (Y/N) handed Sinbad back his sword, it glowed a bright blue and the same symbol on the lamp appeared on the blade, much to both their amazement. "This is the power you so desired," the floor also began to glow brightly as the world around them vanished. The First Dungeon Baal: Completed The next thing the teens realized was that they were outside with heaps of treasure surrounding them. Sinbad was draped on a chest while (Y/N) was laid out on some sacks. "Sunlight!" She yelled comically. "Sweet sunlight!" Sinbad laughed at her antics before hearing the cries of the soldiers who surrounded the hole where the dungeon once stood. Some high ranking officials walked up to them. "Job well done, young Capturer," the official congratulated. "Now hand over the treasure and the dungeon's power," (Y/N) growled. "You're fish brained if you think we're gonna hand this over after all the trouble we just went through!" Sinbad shook his head. "I'm not like you guys. I earned the treasure and the power," he stood up on the chest and drew his sword. "I'll never hand them over to you!" "What!" That's an act of rebellion against the empire. Get him!" (Y/N) turned back into her reptilian form, ready to fight alongside her friend when very familiar looking yellow butterflies began circling them. "Are you not going to use your power?" A voice asked them. Both turned to see a feminine looking male in green attire who was recognizable to both of them. "Yunan!" They both said, much to their surprise. "You know him?" Sinbad asked. "He's the one who told us about the dungeon. The wanderer I told you about!" The male smiled. "I see, you don't know how to use the power yet," he touched the symbol on Sinbad's sword and it began glowing again. Baal appeared again, nearly blocking the sun. "It's quite soon to require my aid, isn't it Master?" The soldier cowered before the blue giant, much like (Y/N) remembered them cowering before her tribe when she was little. "Go ahead," Yunan encouraged. "Follow he voice of you heart," "Oh genie of wrath and heroism," Sinbad called. "I order you and your messengers, using my magic as your source, bestow my will with great power," he raised the sword to the sky. "Come forth, Baal!" Lighting rained down upon the soldiers mercilessly as the genie smirked. (Y/N)'s eye widened. "That was amazing Sinbad!" "This is my power?" "Sinbad, (Y/N)," Yunan stated as he waved his staff. Suddenly, both of them felt light as air as they were raised to the skies along with the treasure. "I can fly you know!" (Y/N) protested, not liking the feeling of not having control of her flight. "Yunan, what are you doing?!" Sinbad demanded. "This is a gift from me!" The two were sent flying elsewhere, disappearing from the hole's view. The eventually stopped over Tison and began to fall to the ground. "Grab on Sinbad!" (Y/N) insisted. The boy quickly grabbed his friend's neck as she slowed their descent and gave them a nice landing, careful to avoid the bags of treasure that threatened to crush them. Once they landed, she turned back into her human form and huffed in exhaustion. "Never flown like that before," She struggled. "Me either," Sinbad replied as he looked ready to vomit. She gave a weak smile and playfully slapped his shoulder. "Hey, don't die on me. I promise flying is usually much nicer than that," "Big Brother Sinbad?" A small voice asked. They turned and saw a little boy running up to them with a smile. "It is you!" "I'm back," Sinbad greeted, forgetting his air sickness and gettin to his feet. An older woman also ran up to them. "Where have you been?" "I was at the Dungeon-," he started to explain before she cut him off, grabbing his shoulders. "Where could you have gone leaving Esra for two months!?" "Two months!?" He nearly screamed. (Y/N) stood next to him. "That's not possible! He was only in there for a few hours at most! Wait, if two months have past, how long have I been away?" "Who's this?" The woman asked. "She's an old friend. How's my mom!" (Timeskip) Both teens raced to the house and entered the dark room. Esra was lying on the floor, struggling to breath. (Y/N) felt her heart crack. She wanted so desperately to see Esra again too and thank her for her kindness when she was little, but not like this. She knew this scent from the many times she helped Autumnfang in the shaman's den. Esra was not long for the world. As the ailing woman opened her eyes, he son stood over her. (Y/N) stood at the entrance. She wanted to greet Esra, but her last moments should be with her son alone, not her. From her spot, she heard Esra sorrowful words, not realizing her son was there, that instead she mistook him for her dead husband. The dragon bowed her head and began a silent chant of last rites for warriors. She didn't care if it was inappropriate, it felt right to her. She kept her head bowed until she could no longer hear her heart beating. She heard the cries of the villagers around her, but she could only focus on the boy in front of her, standing over his mother's body. (Timeskip) The day turned to night and the villagers buried Esra. (Y/N) helped dig since she was physically fit for it, but when it came to funeral rites, she stayed back. It didn't seem right for her since the village was much closer to her than she was. She sat perched on a roof as a dragon, her head bowed like her mother and her warriors had done for Badr, like she had done for her cousin, and hopefully someone would do for her. She heard footsteps on the roof. She knew it was Sinbad since the other villagers were too afraid to approach her. They probably recognized her now as the little dragon that challenged them all to fight her. The purple haired boy sat next to her. "You look like your mother like that," he said kindly. He laid on his back and looked at the stars. "What will we do now?" "What do you want to do?" She asked him quietly. "I want to change the world, but I'll need more power. I'm going to travel the world and find it," She smiled and met his gaze. "Then I have no choice. I'll just have to follow you to make sure you don't do something stupid," no other words were said that night, they both just sat in silence until dawn. (Timeskip) "Sorry! I told him not to do it!" (Y/N) called to the poor princess who they had left in a barrel to be picked up by soldiers. He smiled mischievously. "What, it was just a bit of fun. Besides, she was a cute hostage," (E/C) eyes were rolled. "You could've done it a bit more respectfully. Anyways, why are we taking a boat? You know I could just fly us anywhere," He nearly gagged. "I am never flying anywhere ever again!" "I told you, it feels way better than that!" "I don't care! Besides, nothing beats sailing the world!" He said with a happy grin. His companion sighed. "Fine, have it your way. So what to do now?" He stood at the bow of the ship. "We're gonna change the world," He stated confidentially in a heroic pose. "Before we do that, we should probably head to my village," (Y/N) broke the heroic atmosphere. "I have to report back to them and tell them I'm not dead," "Aw, do we have to?" He whined like a child. "Yes we do. I agreed to come, but I have a responsibility. Besides, it's not like we have a strict course to go on. We might just find a path there," He frowned. "You're just making excuses," "Less talk, more sail!" (Timeskip) After nearly a week of sailing, Sinbad saw something glowing just beyond the horizon. It was night time so the glowing was a vibrate bright red in the darkness. "(Y/N), is that it?" He asked unsure. She nodded with a grin. "Yes Sinbad, that's my home,"
