Everyone in the class was surprised. Some were unable to wrap their minds around it. From the first time they'd encountered Mu Rulan, they'd never seen a teacher that didn't like her instantly. Even the strictest old man would have a slightly gentler tone while facing Mu Rulan...

What sort of creature was this Teacher Mo? Although it was a bit aggravating to see Mo Qianren's attitude toward Mu Rulan, they were more curious whether the teacher was gay. If he wasn't, then he was probably blind.

Mu Rulan smiled as she returned to her seat. She listened intently to Mo Qianren's voice, her gaze on his face. She was interested. This man was so interesting, how could he be so interesting?

If he stared at her like this so closely, she might not be able to hold back from getting excited... That pair of eyes were so mysteriously beautiful, she really, really wanted it ya...

"Mu Rulan," the teacher's voice sounded again. The gaze directed at Mu Rulan was cold. "Can you pay attention and listen?"

This girl... Though her smile was pretty and her gaze seemed pure, he wasn't sure if her mentality had undergone any changes; she gave him a creeping feeling of danger.

This was the same feeling he'd gotten at the psychiatric jail in California. That was how they'd looked at him, like they wanted to rip open his stomach and peel away his skin. But their impacts were not so strong compared to Mu Rulan.

Mu Rulan smiled her normal smile. "I wasn't daydreaming, teacher."

"Then please look at your book."

"I am looking at my book, teacher," said Mu Rulan, smiling deeper. Ya... Even when he was angry, he could still be so controlled. How interesting.

Mo Qianren stared silently at Mu Rulan. Finally, he said lightly, "Come to my office after class."

Mu Rulan's eyes curved beautifully into crescent moons. "Yes, sir."

The students looked at one another, surprised. This new teacher seemed to have a target on Mu Rulan. As for Mu Rulan... They didn't feel that there was anything unusual about her, since this was always how she was with teachers.

In the third row, Ou Kaicheng looked with his sharp gaze darting between Mu Rulan and Mo Qianren. He squinted his eyes.

......

Forty minutes passed quickly. Most students tidied their desks and went off to lunch.

Mu Rulan smiled and followed Mo Qianren, her footsteps relaxed like she was simply on a walk.

Mo Qianren walked before her, yet all his attention was behind him. His gaze was focused on the movement of her hands and legs, analyzing each pulse of blood through her veins, and any adjustment to her facial expression.

"Teacher, if you look at me like that, I might even believe you've fallen in love with me ya," said Mu Rulan, unable to help herself. She was smiling as per usual but there seemed to be a hint of helplessness in her expression.

"Would a hunter fall in love with his prey?" asked Mo Qianren.

Mu Rulan chuckled. "You're right. But there's always a chance that a person falls victim to their own cleverness."

Mo Qianren didn't say anything else. His cold temperament had always given the people around him a sense of being a thousand miles away. To be able to look into his eyes and maintain her expression, Mu Rulan was certainly exceptional.

It was unusual.

So abnormal that she seemed to have no fear.

Mo Qianren's office was on the third floor. Inside the room there was a bed as well as a desk covered in experiments, with scalpels, tweezers, all sorts of jars, and a skeleton stand. It didn't look so much like a teacher's office, and more like a research lab.
